I personally live in Centurion, Pretoria - which has a Spur at every shopping centre there.
Never have I ever experienced a Spur like at Takoda Spur.
The service was prompt and friendly (not only by our waitress Charmaine, but also from management)
The food was exactly as we ordered. No excess grease or runny egg white. The food even tasted better than any other Spur I've been at, even though the recipes are the same. The food was just amazing.
And finally I attended a restaurant bathroom that was clean and fresh.
Takoda Spur was short staffed the morning and still knocked my socks off with their service.
Thank you for the awesome service and experience Takoda Spur provided me with.
Definitely a Spur to make a regular visit to.

We ordered takeout and our entire order was wrong. Even after the waiter read the order back to me they still couldn’t get a simple burger order right! One burger was ordered with no garnish and sauce but with basting on the patties. This burger came with garnish no basting. The other three burgers had no basting on the patties and tasted like cardboard. The Goodie Burger had no cheese or pepper sauce on it either. The one star awarded is for the drinks while we waited. R460 bucks with tip well wasted!! No wonder Spur is boycotted! Never again!

Love the new look after revamping the old spur. Service was great and speedy we did not wait long at all and our waitress was so friendly and welcoming. The views of the ocean is fantastic. Recommend anyone to go have a bite. Well equipped to entertain your kiddies as well

Food was of a good quality. The vibe was nice, but not excellent. It is on a great location and has an excellent view! The waiters however were disappointing. We visited twice. Our first waiter could not properly explain the special to us, she was a bit rude and made nearly no effort to make our stay more enjoyable. The second waiter took forever to get to us, and when he did, he rushed it off as though he had something more important to do. If I go again, it will be for the view.

The view gets 5 stars, But the restaurant itself deserves 3 or less. The staff were appropriately friendly. However, the gorgeous view of the ocean was somewhat obstructed by the exceptionally dirty windows. With such a view you need to wash the windows at least twice a day. I also noticed that the cutlery was quite worn out. Once again the view saves the place.

Really great place , especially at night, waiters are extremely helpful and friendly. View was amazing with a full moon shining on the water, and food was good as usaul.

If you want a family restaurant that is also part of a well-known franchise situated on the beach, or rather overlooking the beach and bay, then Takoda Spur is a very popular option. Be warned though in vacation times, especially the summer season, this restaurant is packed.
The food and service is good, and the atmosphere is what you would find in any Spur, minus the spectacular view if you are lucky enough to get a seaside booth.
Prices are more expensive than your non-franchise restaurants, so be prepared to pay about R100+ per person.
They are currently (2016) building in the lot right next to restaurant, making it a bit of an issue to get to there, but building is projected to be finished by December 2016.
