Welcoming, efficient and good service. Nothing to complain about
Amazing staff. Worthy of a 5 star rating
A home away from home. Good food and entertainment
beautiful, comfortable, has everything you need
Although it is situated in a casino, there are no disturbances. The rooms are very well maintained and cosy. Staff are always courteous and friendly. Good room service menu available and relaxing pool area. Value for money.
I am definitely delighted about the warm welcome from reception and other hotel staff. I am treated like a king. I enjoy everything. From T. J. Sokhela
Its a casino. Don't expect it to be anything other than a casino. There is an "education centre" for parents to dump the kids and go play slots. Expect to see sad babies, toddlers and kids sleeping in there at all hours of the day and night. Very sad to see. I ate in my room the food was not great, except the bar one chocolate cake that was delish. The staff aren't very friendly but again I stress its a casino if you find only one bottle of water in the room look around your room for the mini bar there is extra water and juice in there at no charge but no-one tells you its there. Its usually in the cupboard under the coffee setup.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Clean and professional. Wonderfull breakfast.
Great hotel with cozy rooms
It's an upmarket place
Golden Horse Casino Hotel. Let's just start with the name. Driving through gate you're met by the majestic golden horses. It's just amazing. The hotel overlooks the race course in Scottsville. On racing days you can literally see the horses from your room. It's just spectacular.
The hospitality is just amazing. Rooms and corridors always have a fresh smell and are extremely clean.
You don't struggle with the WiFi.
Parking facilities are secure.
The tv channels are diverse, so one has options.. even for the kids.
Although there's a casino down stairs , there's also a play room for the kids. And I love that about them because they cater for everyone in that sense.
Excellent stay. But it was hot
Overall: Okay rooms but location terrible. In same building as casino, not great 4 families.
Rooms: Smoke permeates everything and rooms have carpets - not great for asthmatics (double whammy). Be prepared for asthma attacks. Fine layers of dust on lighting and lamps. Bathroom taps had water spots on handles. 1 bottle of still water provided yet was a room for 2?!
Attractions: No other attractions except casino - not great if u don't gamble.
Other: Not enough bottled water provided in rooms. Towels smelly and make u itch. Aircons mostly direct smoke filled air into rooms instead of out.
Staff: Most staff friendly and helpful but not all. Some give u very strange looks as if u bothering them. Opted to stay in for supper most nights due to asthma. Room service is okay, sometimes impatient person taking order would put the phone down yet I was not done yet. They ran out of avocados on Saturday afternoon and no options was provided. No apologies either. If u pay in cash for room service, don't expect any change back - servers take it as given tip.
Eating: Vigour & verve restaurant has good range of lamb dishes but not many vegetarian options. Other 2 spots don't have many options for people who don't eat pork or beef or are vegetarian.
Overall disappointing experience for the money spent. Reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is the attention from yvette (housekeeping) and manager on duty to try and mend smoke situation by bringing humidifier into rooms booked as well as assistance with trying to find us another room.
