If you really need to sleep in PMB this would be your best option. I really would struggle to say anything nice about this hotelyou get what you pay for guess?

it is ok for one night. not enough pillows no water in the room and no coffee at all.
No real news channel so tried streaming only to find that the internet speed drops dramatically at night. But very neat bed is comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful.response / report this review -

Friendly staff. The rooms are standard and basic. Perfect place to stay if you're passing through to leave the next morning. Not really built for comfort.

A Second 1st Time
This is a review I almost wrote on my first day due to how impressed I was.
My first experience of a Road Lodge Establishment kept me away for about 7 years due to the very low and depressing standards coupled with poor quality of room feel and furniture including a 20 cm box TV.
With 8 considered a new beginning, it was equivalent to me visiting for the first time hence the fitting "second 1st time" title.
This time around, I actually felt I was supposed to pay more than what I was charged for the All Round quality of service and great experience. Starting from the friendly and efficient staff, clean, neat and welcoming reception area.
IT WAS LIKE I WAS HERE FOR MY FIRST TIME AGAIN. My previous bad memories have been removed. I do however hope that this is not a Pietermaritzburg Road Lodge exclusive. I am looking forward to my guaranteed next visit. :-)response / report this review -

Awesome stay. For the first time in a long time my husband woke up without back painthe beds are great. Very clean. Breakfast was lovely.

Breakfast does not accomodate everyone. There is not much to choose from. Rooms are very small, pictures make them look spacious
