This place is every bit of a 4 star hotel in a good area of Johannesburg. The rooms are a nice size for sharing and hotel staff are friendly. The food is great. Good for business people but if you want to stay up late on the sundeck chilling with your mates, it's not the place for you. Does not promote self entertainment and night life. Bars and sun deck closing at 10pm was a put off for me. Otherwise, a great stay

1 night stay. Noisy room with poor insulation. Noise from both the street and from adjoining rooms. Dirty bathroom. Bed was average. Location was the only good aspect for me.

I really enjoyed the stay (y). Very stylish rooms and bar. Super friendly staff. The rooms in the upper level have a nice view, but might be a little noisy because of the wind, but that's not really a big deal.
Take Ure camera with you there are some very nice details!

Love the elegant feel and the ambiance that's set by the lighting, furniture and decorations. The only thing is the lack of ventilation when you're inside, you u constantly need to go out for some air because it can get quite warm inside. Otherwise, loved it, loved the view of the city and the staff has good hospitality.

The Reef Hotel is wonderful. Good standards of cleanliness, pleasant staff, good food. With piped jazz music 24/7. And reasonable price.

There is a bar on the rooftop with a great view. Not my kinsd of music but most people should have a good time. The restaurant downstairs sells good African food. The regulars seem to get less effort in service at the resturant though. The staff is friendly and helpful. If they would just remember to take care the regulars I'd eat there all the time.

A bit dated and worn out, but rooms were nice if a bit on a small side. Bed was good and comfy. Room door was light and flimsy, which didn't help sound insulation, but generally it was quiet anyway. Breakfast was alright with fresh fruit and juices served. No iron or hairdryer in rooms so overall felt more like a 3* star hotel.

Really classy, clean and tidy place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Beautiful views, especially on the roof top bar. It's just sad that it's opening hours are limited - they can open it for you if you just want to take photos though. They even walked me to the restaurant downstairs when I couldn't find it, which doesn't have much variety in terms of the food options, but the staff there is also quite friendly.

Reef hotel is a 4Star hotel by rating but by satisfaction and peace of mind and in my view its a 5star. From reception to master rooms to their food. It's in the center of JHB

Really Nice rooms and amazing service! If you have any questions or problems the reception is there for you! The restaurant at the groundfloor is not the best, but fine at the price

Its an okay place to chill, the views are spectacular, but the only thing is it only has a vibe during month end. They don't have virgin cocktails which is a bummer.

A very friendly and service oriented hotel situated in a convenient part of the city for visiting attractions. Staff are very good. A very full and well produced breakfast buffet. Added bonus of 2 restaurants- one on the ground floor serving very hearty local cuisine in a novel manner! Top floor provides great city views. Loses a star because AC in the room not that effective, and it transpired I had a smoking room.
