The protea hotel in George provide a high level of service. The rates are good and breakfast is always a plus. I like coming here for work because when I return to my room after a long day of work. I am welcomed to a clean refreshed room. That a big plus in my book. The place is very well decorated and excellent living conditions.

Friendly staff, Donaine and Alfred made our stay the best ever. Alfred made me the best cappuccino, which I was tempted to ask for it every day.
The hotel's refund process is quite cumbersome. They couldn't give me my money immediately. They can go and learn from Builders Warehouse. No accounts department is needed.response / report this review -

Rooms are cosy but can be a bit more modern. Only 5 of the rooms are fitted with a bar fridge out the plus minus 50 rooms. The passage carpets looks worn and the rooms lets in a lot of noise. The breakfast buffett is very uninspiring and doesn't cater for everyone's dietary requirements. Staff on the other hand is extremely helpful and friendly.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful. They will do whatever they can to Make things more convenient for you. The entire hotel is clean with lovely decor. It is situated in close proximity to a variety of restaurants and on the "Go George" route. The breakfast is a medium variety, but the food is sinfully delicious
I had two faults with the place. The room walls are a bit too thin and I'm not a fan of the bath/shower.

A pleasant place to stay with convivial and inviting staff. I love the old-town appeal it embodies and that can only be helped by the small theatre next door. The rooms cerainly provide that reliable Protea standard with good bedding and amenities. Supper is not offered in-house but patrons are referred to the eateries across the road.

Awesome experience! Rooms neat and tidy with fresh air filling the room, personal card to welcome me from JJ and team. Radio on when entering the room took away the lonely feeling. Most friendly staff ever at reception. A real Wow experience
