Awesome town. Loved the way all the old houses and markets is still there

Go there. Beautiful. Spent best part of the morning browsing through the many stalls and enjoying the historic sites.

Unfortunately many of the stores have been closed. The old gold rush town is beautifully located between the mountains. Pilgrim's pantry is a nice place to catch something to eat. The menu contains some basic historic information.

Many stores have closed. It seems as though tendering on stores and political correctness are negatively impacting the once historic town. The museum now has a section dedicated to Oliver Tambo who had nothing to do with the town or area. The town is losing its identity.

You know that warm and cozy feeling you get when you just walk into a certain place. That is what you feel when entering this historic town of Pilgrims Rest. It just takes you right back into the past. Really enjoyed every moment of it. Especially the coffee in downtown at the pilgrim pantry was something just worth trying. Only regret you would have after visiting this place is the fact that you have to leave it and carry on with life this modern life.

The first time we went here the car guards really put me off and many places were closed. I would not have returned exept for hearing a lady talk about the place. The second visit left a much better impression.

Very nice and small. Must see! There is now crime but the people are poor so they ask you for a car wash. Give them 30-40 Rand and you have a nice stay there and a washed car as well 😉

There few if any real places left to see here. Also there's "car guards" and "car washers" that will circle you like vultures, never mind not being anywhere near your vehicle when you parked. Had the pleasure of random people just washing my car and expecting me to pay for it. So sad to see the town so run down.

Lost its charm. Not the Pilgrims Rest that it used to be.

Town has gone downhill (like most of South Afica) but residents are trying to restore the town.

What a dump nothing here and got harassed by car guards who washed our car and demanded R80! Won't go back to this once awesome historic town!!
