We had an excellent time there camping over Easter. Ablutions need a bit of attention but lots of work happening there so it will just get better. Owners are passionate about the place and really give it a personal touch.

A lovely picnic spot out in magaliesburg. Took the Reefsteamers from Park Station a quaint steam train out of Johannesburg to Magaliesburg. A bus then transported us to Sleepy river. A cold swimming pool with slides. Refreshment available but nothing halaal so take your own picnic basket. Entrance fee is R60 and R100 on public holidays. Place was clean and well maintained. Lots of shady spots with braai areas.

Lovely shaded campsites. There are sites close to ablutions and pool and then others close to the river which are more secluded.

The pool is great especially for kids with slide and mini super tube! The management is friendly and helpful.

The breakfast run motorcycles are noisy on Sunday morning but that's an issue for all places in this vicinity.

Myself and young son love it here. It’s basic , as you’d expect of a campsite! Little river , bush / forest , big pool , slush puppies , draft beer, it’s all good. Watch out for monkeys! They got a few big rocks of our cool box . Very kind owners gave us a loaf of bread! Near joburg , really good for a night away , or longer I guess.

I enjoyed my weekend here a lot. There are many camping spots to choose from. The bathrooms where just redone. The area is very well maintained. The swimming area is fantastic and there are many build in braai's to choose from. The owners here are one of the most friendly owners that I have met. There's not a lot of light pollution here so the stars at night are beautiful. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a short stroll next to the river. Be careful of the monkeys, they are very naughty, keep your tents closed all the way, not just the mesh (they tore trough ours). I would recommend this place for anyone who wants a relaxing weekend camping.

Booked for 2 weeks and extended to a month and also using the park as a home base while traveling.

Day visitor offerings are excellent with pool, trampoline, jumping castles, braai area, etc.

Camp site very rustic but you can move further up depending on your comfort level. If there are heavy rains then the mud can be a problem.

Is a much older place and therefore does need work. The owners, management and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you welcome and offer any assistance.

    Also very reasonably priced.

The resort pool, chalets and shop are great. However the worst caravan park i have seen in a very long time. When it rains the sites and ablutions flood, mud everywhere and no drainage to direct it. Taps and electric supply at a minimum. Will not repeat the visit!

We had an amazing weekend here with friends in October. The pool is awesome with two slides and the play area is perfect for kids - although they didn't spend much time there. We spent most of our time relaxing and walking along the river. This campsite has lots of shade, which makes it perfect for summer weekends.

Its a very nice camping site, relaxing. We enjoyed our stay. I would give its 5 stars if the restrooms were cleaned more than once a day, it rained while we were there and the restrooms got a dirty. They need someone checking them at least 3 times a day. Otherwise very lovely place, friendly staff and quiet enough to relax (just what we wanted).

Awesome camp site. Owner and manager are always there and available. There is a little shop that you can buy necessities at, and it has a HUGE play area and big swimming pool.
And they are very reasonably priced as well
This is our favourite camp site.
