This is my first time in a Safari and I must say that this place had exceeded my expectations. Very friendly staffs, good food, nice decor and very resourceful rangers. They always made sure that our stay here is worth every penny of it. Will come back one day for sure.

We had a wonderful short safari stay in Madikwe. Cabins were great, surroundings and amenities fine. Very friendly staff at the lodge, very competent rangers.
Got everything we expected and more for an exemplary African wilderness experience.
Can‘t say anything about price because we booked it in a fairly expensive package
In you can spare it, spring some more for „Room 17“ which has a private terrace with a view to a watering space on the river.

Quit and wild place. Ranger aware about safety and able to cooperate and to find wild animal, in the middle of wild savana. In the middle of nowhere. A place for families, old and young couple, elegant and true. Last but not least: excellent food.

Me gustó mucho. Imagino que los habrá iguales o mejores. Pero fue mi primer safari y guardo un buen recuerdo del lugar. Las habitaciones son cabañas individuales, la nuestra tenía un pequeño porche (donde te pueden borrar los mosquitos)
la bañera mirando hacia el rio, todo muy idílico. 2 safaris por día y comidas incluidas. OJO LAS BEBIDAS NO ESTAN INCLUIDAS.
El personal super atento. Y nuestro guía un 10

Madikwe River Lodge #topnotch 👌🏽 #onpoint beautiful place! Spent 2days with my fiancé and enjoyed every moment! Great food, great service, great game drives Saw sooo many animals during our rides & the ranger Amos was great! Will go back here anytime! Only downside is the bumpy roads to Molatedi gate, the Abjaterskop gate is better although a further route from Jhb!

We just returned from Madikwe River Lodge. We were absolutely enchanted by this place. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The food was great. Charles/Takoro was an amazing guide. Very passionate by his work. I could only recommend this lodge especially for Family , my kids stayed with the babysitters, and they had great time. If you are looking for a honey moon kind of vacation and have a budget you could investigate the 5* lodges but if you are an animal, nature lover. This is a perfect place to relaxe and enjoy a very authentic South African buch lodge. It seems they are having some trouble with the online booking. Do not hesitate to call them. My only last "tips" is to forget about taking picture and enjoying the adventure with no stress ;-)

Madikwe River lodge is the only 3-star lodge in Madikwe but we always get 5-star treatment when staying here. The food and service are great and their field guides, Charles and Benson are excellent. We have seen the big Five animals on their game drives and we've seen most of the big Five plus wild dogs from the lodge!
