Woow a good place to pray and connect to God Almighty without any disturbances
Great for a getaway. Cosy. Not luxurious or fancy in any way though. Definitely recommend for short stays.
Good for resting and renewal of your soul and also good for praying especially at the prayer mountain
They got many big pools for swimming and a game reserve inside
The place is super big nd gud for family reunions
No towels asked for toilet paper.Security locks you in during the day at night security company on duty we could get in without phoning the management who did not answer their cell phones.Overcrowded loft with no ventilation.Rustic is the word. Shower did not deliver hot water. Not recommended as a two or three day rest away from the city.Would rather have slept on a bunk bed in a tent for the price. Even if it was a Budget resort.Sorry my honest impression T
Its a nice quiet retreat destination Their swimming pools could be better and their Gladiator course needs work😠
This place is simply AMAZING!!! Perfect for a peaceful get away. Definitely visiting again soon ☺👍
I love this place. Peaceful and relaxing..perfect place for a break away.Staff is wonderful.I will definitely recommend it
While I would really like to give this place a lower rating. 1 star is the lowest they will go. So like the Academy Awards. This 1 star goes to the actual setting.
And that's where it ends.
Swimming pools doubling up as Frog breeding pools. NO fences around any of the pools. Equipment falling apart. Chalets with no hot water. Plugs not working. No maintenance whatsoever! Damp walls, Bed bugs in the beds. Whilst we were told we had to clean up after ourselves, I can assure you we left the kitchen cleaner than how we got it. For the price that we paid I expected something better than sleeping outside on the ground. If four walls and a lumpy matters with dubious bedding and less than savoury equipment is what you are looking for.. look no further.
However one word of advice, when you arrive please make sure you get a key, as they charge R350 a key. With the R330 profit perhaps they could use it to help with the maintenance
We went camping as a group and we made bookings for the gladiator and obstacle events. The equipment was in really bad shape very close to scrap.
The camping site is not level, . the braai's are not up to standard and the wash up facility has got only one basin that is functional.
The ablution facility is a disaster with toilet doors not locking or the locks fitted on the outside of the door or the wrong way round.
On the positive side it is was very quiet and safe. the staff was very friendly and helpful. We never ran out of hot water during our stay . I will not recommend Magalies Retreat to anybody
Food is a disaster. Rather book for self catering. Nice and lots of games to play
Decent venue for church men's camps. It has the old equipment from the gladiators TV show of the 1990s and human foos ball which was fun. Accommodation in bunk beds is rustic but comfortable.
Peace of God lives there .
Jesus Christ is Lord
We took over 150 rowdy school kids along for a camp. The accommodation was clean, the staff where friendly and helpful. Meals portions where more then what we expected. All in all we had a fantastic time.
