Roads are well till the Broder and service wasn't bad in the port.
If you reach at South African border early morning at 6am then you can enter South Africa without waiting & if you are late it will delay your complete trip.
it's good to understand both languages so that anything happening u will be able to solve
Its Faster but only a bit of corruption @ the Mozambique side especially if you don't know the languages Thank God I know both south African and Mozambican languages..
I was given wrong papers ..i was told that piece of paper was insurance for my car and paid R289 for that.and a pass through without knowing that the paper they gave is only for movement its not for car insurance hours later the police changed me 10 000 madikash for insurance thats insane ..the place is peacefull but i will never go there again .
Amount of time spent depends on what time you arrive, otherwise friendly and helpful official staff.
Go early to avoid long queues and have your papers in order.
Because they is no enough money
On South African side all staff were efficient and helpful. The process is smooth and easy to understand. However, exercise patience when crossing the Mozambique side, as most of the signs and documents are in Portuguese. All officials have recognisable clothing, so do not allow any other person to take any documentation from you, and do not attempt to pay them to speed things up, as this encourages corruption.
Easy to navigate border if you don't go at night. At night it is full of chapas (Mozambican private means of transportation) carrying hundreds of passenger loaded with different products. The queue can get so long at night that if you don't plan well you might get stucked at the border as it closes at 00.00. During the day is fine. If you are coming from Mozambique with a car, don't forget to keep the little receipt you will get in order to come back, otherwise you will get in trouble on your return.
