Wonderful experience and will recommend it to everyone .Their rates are reasonable and affordable.Top of the rage food and approachable staff .Try it and you won't regret it.

We have been here 3 days during our honeymoon trip in September 2016: the place is very nice with all these houses connected with this elevated path to allow impalas and other animals to travel freely inside the resort. The staff was very very kind and accomodated all the group's requests (we were something like 10 Italian couples on honeymoon). The nicest thing to see during lunch was the stuff fighting with water guns against those little monkeys who were trying to steal food from the tables! The Park Guides were amazing: very experienced and communicative they managed to show us the Big Five in just 24h! The rest of those 3 days we managed to add another 2 of the Big ones and some other "less important" animals. To be honest the beginning of September is not the best period to go on a Safari, but apparently we got very lucky 😜!!!

Amazing staff and fantastic Safari guides! We saw cheetahs and lions thanks to the guides food was great and service was friendly and very attentive. We had our 6 and 7 year old kids along and they loved the pool and game area.

Our family group (with members ranging in age from 6 to 70+) arrived here mid-afternoon, and went on our first 3-hour game drive about half an hour later. The game drive was great, with a very knowledgeable ranger as guide, who also served as tracker (they don't use separate trackers here), and a very comfortable 10-passenger open safari off-road vehicle. The drive was very enjoyable and we saw many nice and impressive animals before returning to the lodge after sundown.
Dinner was to be at 7 pm, immediately after our return from the game drive, but wasn't ready until after 7:30, so we had to wait around (very hungry!) for another half an hour. Dinner was served outdoors, a buffet with braai-grilled meat. The setting was nice but there wasn't enough light, so it was difficult to see what you were eating. The food overall was okay, no more; I have to say I've had better food There was also an "African dance show" after dinner, which basically turned out to be a bit of a farce -- a bunch of waiters/waitresses and other service personnel from the lodge came out, in their work uniforms, singing and dancing, rather poorly at that
The morning game drive started at 6 am, with a wake-up call at 5:30. Hot drinks and a snack were served before the drive, with breakfast waiting for us at 9 am upon our return from the drive. The drive again was very nice and we saw many more interesting things, but breakfast upon our return was again a bit of a disappointment; many items had been finished and only some were replenished by the staff, leaving us scrounging for remaining bits and crumbs Organization here (and for most of the other food-related services) left something to be desired.
Lunch was served at 1 pm, this time à la carte -- they brought a big plate with chicken wings and meatballs, a small bowl of rice, and salad for all to share (with exactly 1 wing and 1 meatball per person). Some from our group remained hungry
We had a total of 2 more game drives -- one that afternoon and one the next morning. We saw different animals in different parts of the humongous lodge property on each of the drives, and managed to see each of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros and buffalo) at least once. We also saw many other no less nice or impressive animals as well (including a cheetah nursing 3 very cute cubs). All in all, we were very satisfied with the game drives and our guide got a nice tip (note that gratuities may not be required, but they are expected -- personnel working in safaris and the tourism industry make next to nothing in salary and rely on tips to make a living).
The rooms themselves were very nice, modern, spacious, and luxurious, with air conditioning (which we didn't need, but which I'm sure would come in handy in the hot summer months). The only thing which may be a problem for some who like their privacy (although this didn't particularly bother us) is that the bathroom area is open, with no door to separate it from the bedroom area (although the toilet was behind a closed door), and the shower itself was outside, accessible via a sliding door. This was fine for us as the weather was fine, but I wonder how convenient this is under inclement weather conditions We also had the pleasure on two occasions of "guests" on our balcony -- a group of vervet monkeys! That was very nice to see, the children especially enjoyed it greatly!
On the day we ended our stay, we had to check out of our rooms by 10:30, but our transport was only scheduled for 12:40. As they didn't agree to allow us to stay in the rooms any later than 10:30, we had to sit around in the lobby for a couple of hours after checking out (there's nowhere else you can or are allowed to go outside of the lodge, while you're in Kruger Park). This could have been better planned
All in all, though, a very good experience which we all enjoyed, and most importantly excellent game drives, although I'm reducing a point from my rating for the organizational deficits described above.response / report this review -

We had a wonderful four days at this lodge from the 6-10 June 2016.
The staff was very friendly and assisted us in every aspect we needed information about wildlife as well as about the area itself. We spent two nights at Camp Shawu, wow the place was awesome not to mention wildlife as it was just at our doorstep. It was such a wonderful experience viewing wildlife from the luxurious tents overlooking the dam. The Camp Manager Daniel Mnisi made sure that we received the utmost attention we deserved. Sifiso Nkosi our Game Ranger was always punctual and friendly giving us a lot of information about wildlife.
We spent the last two nights at the main lodge Shishangeni, wow the place is immaculate. Again our Game Ranger here was Nordik Ragom, we are short of words to describe the warmth of this man. His service is par excellence, he is so knowledgeable about plants as well as animal kingdom.
He made sure that we received most of his expertise and bushcraft in a very short space of time. We also want to extend a word of gratitude to the entire staff as well as to the Manager Chris Pollard for a well deserved rest. To the Manager Chris we still want to maintain what we said to you " with Sifiso Nkosi and Nordik Ragom" you have jewels!
The rooms were always cleaned on time. The food and refreshments were excellent.

The staff is amazing the food is great not to talk about the bedrooms those were the best part of my stay I am so goin back to Shishangeni for my honeymoon one day!
