Absolutely brilliant half way stop between joburg and Durban.
The food was incredible and home cooked, best steak I had in a while.
The chalets/Rondavels are very cute and are perfect.
Awesome views of the mountains and great grounds to walk on or even go for a long run. We saw some buck and a giant hare bouncing around. It was perfect and the staff are super friendly!response / report this review -

Clean, well appointed and super nice staff. Only gripe (small) was proximity to highway as we could hear the trucks all night long but they weren't too loud and we got a good night's rest. Would recommend

Simple, clean lodging with great service. Pitso, the front desk manager stayed after 10pm to help us check in after we were stranded on the highway. Highly recommended. Reasonably priced.

A great place. We stayed here back in August, finding it by chance after a long drive. We booked in for just one night, but ended up staying longer. Really restful and great value for money.

Stayed in Phumula, a room in the main house. The room is large clean comfortable and well equipped. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Restaurant evening meal was so-so, great if you like quantity. My main and serious concern is the risk of fire in the main house. Phumula has no fire escape, there is a long corridor leading to the room, a fire in the thatch could easily block this escape. This could be a death trap, a thatched house on fire takes no prisoners! No evacuation plan published, no visible fire fighting equipment, the arrangement would certainly be condemned by any H&S inspector. Management was notified who said they would 'report it to the owner'
