Only one person stamping in and one stamping out. Holiday season this must be a nightmare
South African border is great. Very clean and staff are friendly. Mozambique side however are very rude and there is no system or order.
The passport stamping in SA nd Mozambique sides was very quick
But very impressed with the SA proffesionalism and the building layout
Not bad at allgot through the border on the way in on 16 December in an hour and on the way home on 26 December in 1/2 an hour.Clean toilets.
It was quick and efficient on our way in, the staff are efficient but like most civil servents their smile is very rare. But hey no one is there to make friends. For those who are not driving in there are friendly knowledgeable locals who can assist with the transport . Those who are driving please note the roads require a 4x4. Don't bring your 2 series here 😊.
Mind the requests for "import tax" on the Moz side. Give yourself at least a hour and a half to get through if you're on a tight schedule. TIA
Not bad, though there are scam artists at every border to Mozambique. Do not hand your papers over to anyone except to officials and the insurance guy inside his office.
Efficient but unfriendly service from both sides. Didn't pay a cent to cross both in and out of Mozambique. If you're on foot you can catch a ride with the locals who will charge you R100.00.
Double check that your passport has been stamped - you should receive two going in and two coming back into South Africa.
Good place nice and tidy, process a bit slow
Smooth and efficient border post.
Do not pay any one to help you, it is easy enough to do it yourself.
Do not buy money from the person at the border, you can withdraw money in Mozambique , and you will get it at a better exchange rate than the person at the boarder gives you.
Under staffed. Always long queues at peak time with few staff. Mozambique side much more efficient.
Went through KBB over easter 2017. Well organized and friendly on both sides.
Efficient service. Had no problems. Border closes at 5pm.
This is a very small border post that was quite dis-organised. It took an hour to get through in both directions when traveling through on a long weekend. Entering and exiting on handled at the same counter for both RSA and Mozambique borders. Also pack sunscreen or an umbrella as there isn't much shade when it is busy. It is tar roads on the RSA side and soft sand roads on the Mozambican side.
Quick crossing if early in the morning and your paperwork is in order, were searched on Moz side and asked why so much food. No searches this time on the SA side, but be prepared to be stripped of all your left over food coming back into SA. Were harassed by the Holland insurance guy on Moz side to take out additional insurance. Did not fall for that one.
