Shocking! Having negotiated the purchase of a car, and you having informed us that finance was approved, we then find out that you sold the car to someone else.
Yes, a "holding deposit" was not paid as yet but surely the common decency would be to call and tell us that there was another interested party, and ask us if we'd like to; knowing that the verbal agreement was that we were buying the car. Yes, the primary purpose of a business is to make money, and obviously the other offer was higher, but this just goes to show your level of customer service. Not impressed.
