I understand that Intercare is a business but when the doctor sends you for blood test and more than a week later does not call to tell you the results nor returns multiple messages left over two days one needs to wonder what is Intercare Tygervalley's view on patient or is it more about the money. In my case the treatment advised for my alignment has not worked and I now I am wondering was it just a case of the wrong treatment being prescribed or is there a bigger issue since I was sent for blood tests. Makes one also wonder what is point of spending hard earned money if you just going to be ignored. In my opinion Intercare Tygervalley is more interested in making money than treating patients.
Intercare offers GP and dentist services as well as a frail care centre.
There is a Clicks store as well as optometrist on site too.
Appointments can be made via a user friendly website where you are able to see images of the GP's and dentists.
If you don't have a medical aid you can pay cash on completion of your appointment.
Had an appointment at 11:00 for our toddler. Arrived at 10:45, only to be told that they can't find our file on the system. Our e-mail address and cell number is now linked to somebody else's profile. After numerous attempts to retrieve our file we were told that we will have to fill in the new patient form. We had to then wait 35 minutes for the doctorreason being that they're very busy and not a lot of doctors working on a Saturday. Horrible experienceespecially with an ill toddler.
We never got to speak to the Dr personally when my dad was admitted always promised he would call back but never did. My dad complained he had to lay in his own urine and feces for hours and the staff was unattending. When we called ( because of covid no visitors allowed) we could often not reach him and whenever we did he had a complaint, the one nurse in the background even uttered is he complaining again which obviously had us enraged. We addressed this to the matrons nothing was done about it. Long story short we had to fight with the dr to have him discharged and he is completely traumatised by his experience said he would never return rather die at home .
Excellent service from Dr Erasmus.. She is the best. Well done Dr Erasmus, keep it up. She was friendly and thorough I really humbled by her service.. She is passionate about her job.

This place is too afrikaans for my taste. They lost my file and never gave me my test results. I only went here because of Discovery plan rules. Still waiting for test results after 11 months. The doctor didn't listen to me when I told her which medication to prescribe and then prescribed medication that didn't work for me. I had bad side effects.
I had an appalling experience at Intercare Tyger Valley. I was 5 minutes late to an appointment and once I got there, the receptionist said I needed to fill out a separate form for her to file. She could sense I was anxious because it was past my appointment time but she reassured me it was fine, telling me the doctor knew I had arrived. 10 minutes later, I’m still at reception and the receptionist is running back and forth between the doctor and I, saying the doctor may have been called to the hospital. She then sits me down and says the doctor wrote down on her notepad that if I was 10 minutes late, I’d have to wait 2 hours to be seen. I then explained to her that I was not 10 minutes late, and that she had delayed me by making me fill out the form. I was visibly upset by this foolery that went on and left. Mind you, the receptionist is then smiling about this whole ordeal with a white patient. I didn’t want to call out this service as racism but I’m now sure this is what was going on. On a previous visit, my mother and I waited over half an hour for the doctor without complaint. When the roles are reversed, they want to waste 2 hours of my time? No. And in the end, the doctor’s next patient was also late and she wanted me to turn back and return. I will never go back to Intercare Tyger Valley. There are few black patients who visit this centre and rightfully so as it’s racist.
Layout is a bit confusing at first, but it is a all in one medical center afterall. The front desk staff were very helpful and could answer all my questions. The dentist I saw was fantastic and very clear on everything he was doing and what needs to be done.
On a side note: I'm not on medical aid and although not cheap the fees where reasonable and fair
Very easy and convenient to book online. Safes you the hassle to phone. Doctors are very professional. Receptionists could use a bit more “people skills”. Been there a few times and each time the waiting period differs, anything between 15 to 45 min. And not always a reason given for the delay.
Very convenient. Easy online bookings.
Imagine a doctor factory that tries to get as many patients through the doors as quick as possible without empathy or care you'd expect from a gp or their staff and this is what you'll get. Three times been to Intercare and each time same conclusion, never again.
I was not informed of this before booking a dental appointment online, but oral hygienists are not there on weekends i.e. no cleaning and polishing.
Charges are almost twice medical scheme rates.
The Doctors at Intercare are great but reception and payments are on par with the worst I have experienced anywhere in south Africa.
One stop medical centre.
Dentists
GP's
Optometrist and they are upen late.
Very professional and ample parking.
Great doctors. Open very early and till late. Most medical aid supported. They have a good selection of additional services in the same building.
Superb service. Friendly and efficient staff with the reasonable prices.
