My whole life I looked like Mater, the tow truck. A couple of weeks ago I went to Claremont Dental studio and had my front teeth extracted and dentures done for me. I walked out looking like Sally.
I wish to thank Dr Ahmad and his partners for changing my life for the best and their kindness during the entire process.

This dentist is the reason I am afraid of going to the dentist today. He cut a whole in my gum while removing a tooth that I will never be able to recover from. He told me it will heal and drop in line with my dentures. I still have a hole above my denture.
I would not recommend this dentist to anyone.

Dr Ahmad and his staff are amazing and wonderful caring people.

I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My son went through a procedure of having his teeth extracted and Dr Ahmad and his staff not only went out of their way to assist us but also made sure that all the costs were covered by the medical aid and that there were no additional or unexpected costs.

I cannot thank them enough for their care, consideration and kindness.

Please do not use this dentist. Both myself and my sister have had really bad experiences with them. At the time when I had my fillings done I was very unhappy with the process and my mouth and teeth hurt a lot. I was told this is normal and to come back at a later time for the rest of my fillings. I am so very glad neither myself or my sister went back! We've since been to a different dentist who said the fillings were done really badly and had to perform a root canal on my one tooth and the other fillings are being replaced soon as well. I repeat, do not go to this dentist!

Visited Dr Mustapha in Dr Ahmads surgery two weeks ago to have a molar that he said 'would be a mission to remove and I'd probably need surgery". Even though it was really really late in the afternoon(beyond closing time), he sacrificed his time to make sure he removes it. If it was somewhere else I would've been told to come back the following day but he did everything while making sure I'm not freaking out. Best Dentist in CPT by a mile and I've told all of my friends about this magician dentist who's really in it to help his patients.

Thank you Dr Ahmad for your incredible service. Like most people, I am not exactly a huge fan of going to the dentist, but you changed my perception. From the time I arrived, I was treated like royalty and although I had just broken my tooth and found out I needed to get root canal, I was treated with such kindness :) Your rooms are absolutely stunning and your staff are really friendly. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a sky on the ceiling, mountains on the walls, and Disney and Pixar characters on the walls. Dr Ahmad is extremely talented and really knows what he is doing. :) I would highly recommend Dr Ahmad to everyone.

It is a common experience that a problem difficult at night is resolved in the morning after the committee of sleep has worked on it! Unfortunately this does not hold true for problems of the mouth. When you need your problem resolved, then you need a great problem solver! Dr Ahmad is just that! For Dr Ahmad, it is not the activity of fixing, it's the experience of fixing. My experience visiting him has given me a renewed confidence that not all dentist experiences are bad! Hats off to you Dr Ahmad ! I'll be seeing you soon!

At Claremont Dental, we strive for excellent service and satisfied patients. We are happy with the positive feedbacks. We take negative critics seriously. We have taken it up with google but two of the four complaints were never patients of our practice. It is unfortunate that there are people out there that would want to tarnish our reputation. The practice has been in existence for ten years and Dr has has been practicing for almost twenty years. We understand that we are human and we bound to to let someone down along the line and we sincerely apologise for that but we have treated 1000s of patients at our practice that are happy and consistently come back

In response to your complaint regarding the prefabricated porcelain crown - we took the liberty of phoning the 2 international dental suppliers based in SA (Milner’s and Dental Warehouse) both companies reconfirmed that there is no stock of the prefabricated porcelain crowns in SA.
I have also contacted the head of the paediatric association of SA – Dr Gritzman, who also confirmed that she is not aware of any company that stocks it in SA. In addition, Clinical Dean Dr Harnekar at the University of Western Cape reconfirmed the above and the one kit they have was obtained overseas.( you can call all these people to confirm)

Often when a patient phones a dental company or receptionist there is confusion between a paediatric strip crown and an adult porcelain crown.
Stainless steel crowns are still widely included in teachings at university. I also attended a paediatric conference in Greece and stainless steel was still widely spoken off.
I will again be representing SA at the International Association of Paediatric dentistry in South America later this year and will lobby for these products to be brought to SA.

Regarding the cavity, a follow up appointment would have been required to complete a proper consultation and make an informed diagnosis. However, I have looked at patient file and no follow up appointment was made.
I trust this provides some clarity and will be happy assist in any way possible to improve your experience with Claremont Dental Studio

This dr is a terrible dr i went there to have my tooth done and the worst case ever dont ever visit him you will be in the worst pain ever and when i went back he just brushed me off with a script for antibiotics i then developed an absiss in my gum he is a rip off and he has no clue what he is doing messing around with peoples mouths and taking their good money

Awful experience.firstly I had called in to ask for the prices and to see if he could help me with my tooth that had a small discoloration and I have a wire on the back of my teeth due to braces which was the main issue , after explaining my situation I was assured that he could do the work, that was the only reason I went in.However I left very disappointed as when I arrived he said he was not able to do the filling and I was forced into doing a cleaning which he said would "help" but did absolutely nothing! The cleaning was terrible as it felt like all he did was rinse my mouth with water. I am not the only one with complains my friend who has visited him before for whitening was extremely disappointed and left unhappy with the results.In conclusion Dr A Ahmad in my opinion isn't a good dentist and I would never recommend him to anyone.

I took my daughter to Claremont Dental Studio to have 2 fillings done, the dentist insisted that she needed 2 crowns done as he could not fill the teeth, he proceeded to fill my daughters teeth with stainless steel crowns, when I asked about pediatric porcelain, he said that it has to be ordered in from overseas as no dentist in South Africa has them, which is a lie as I found out later that dentist no longer really use the stainless steel crowns.. That was in September, 1 crown fell out in Jan, Thank God it did, cause I was forced to then take her to another dentist, where she needed to have a endodontic (root canal) as the tooth that was worked on by the dentist at Claremont dental studio had a cavity that was touching the nerve, with a filling on top of it. the new dentist had to remove the filling, clean out the tooth, give my poor daughter root canal, before filling the tooth. NO CROWN WAS NEEDED!!!!!! I will never go back to Claremont Dental Studios,. nor will I recommend them to anyone.
