The hippo hollow country estate is a beautiful hotel with lots of green areas, peacefull pools and great food.
The estate sits on the river bed which
accomodates hippos and if youre lucky you could see one.
The place offers an authentic experience of an african tribal show with mesmerising vocals and acrobatic dancing, its also very funny.
We really enjoyed the show, even though it is clearly for tourists. Included with the show is a buffe with a variety of dishes including crocodile tail, impala meat and kudu meat. The food was Delicious and the attention to details and each guest was very clear.
Benjamin, the manager was very helpfull and nice with a lot of stories and a huge smile!
The rooms are very clean and quite.

The whole stuff is very polite and helpfull with every question and request.

We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time at hippo hollow! The service was excellent - we were greeted promptly with iced tea and didn't have to wait at all. The staff were very courteous. While we were eating lunch we saw elephants walking across the river. We also saw hippos at night! The security was good and there was wifi at the pool and lobby, which was useful. Also - would recommend the show if you get the chance. It was entertaining and the performers are extremely talented!

An amazing estate, access to the elephant sanctuary (Elephant Whispers) where you can spend time with the elephants and a must do activity. We were lucky enough to see a few hippos by the river and felt safe and protected from the deck. Comfy rooms and lovely restaurant with good food and local beer in tap.

We attend a wedding there, was pleasantly surprised by our surroundings! The room had everything in and even the bathroom was very spacious. The reception was by far the best and the food was amazing!

The food made my wife very sick. The floor manager denied that there was anything wrong with the food. I tasted the food and it was gross.

Truly beautiful place. The restaurant that opens up to the Sabie River where hippos come at night is spectacular, although the food is just slightly above average.

I found this location convenient to the Kruger National Park and Hazyview. Comfortable accommodation with no frills , meals are reasonably good with a good bar service.

Beautiful grounds along the river. Many amenities and attractions nearby. All the staff are extremely courteous and gracious. I stayed here two nights as part of a safari booked through an agency and had some open time. The reception desk helped with suggestions and made all the arrangements for us including transportation.

Although not a top luxury hotel .the Hippo Hollow is an outstanding stay and value. Food is fresh and well prepared, rooms very clean and staff friendly and helpful. I woke up really early this morning and watched 4 Hippos walk the bank from my deck and am loving just sitting on the veranda watching diverse bird life. Very close access to Kruger south gates from here as well! Thank you.

Great service. Great atmosphere. Great base from which to explore the area. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Very close to several restaurants. Enjoyed the in-house restaurant, lovely vibe when eating outside with view over the lawn and stream.
