Great restaurant and wholesome cooking. I was impressed with the portion sizes too. Bigger portions than other dining places but at very decent prices. Great overall experience.

Excellent cuisine and great service. Try the ribeye rump with carpetbagger sauce.
Great selection of wines and really fabulous atmosphere. This is what Hillside Tavern is famous for.

I love this place. We have been going to Hillside Tavern as a family for close to 20 years now. Weve been visiting for only special occasions like a 21st birthday or 50th birthday or graduation celebrations. The food is top quality and the selection of wines is top notch. It's changed over the years as times have changed but it's top class. We belive abroad now but still go for a visit when we are in Pretoria. Thanks Hillside it's always a pleasure.

I've always wanted to visit HT, but never got around to it. On my birthday, I decided to visit the restaurant, with high expectations! I was totally impressed with the atmosphere and the food. Everything made me smile! Will definitely return and recommend!

A great place to have a meal, or just a drink after work to miss the traffic. The menu caters to all tastes, and there is a good selection of wines to choose from.
The service is excellent, and the food great.

Always enjoy the food. No pretense, just good, reliable service and food. So happy that one can have plain cooked meat and veg that is prepared well. Enjoy sitting at a table with a table cloth. Please support them, we want to be able to visit them for years to come.

Man-o-man! This place is the bomb! We could not stop eating. The food was beyond my wildest expectations! The service was what I like. Riaan, our waiter had an excellent sense of humour. Well-established restaurant serving the best steaks in Pretoria. My favourite meal is the prawn tail casoulette followed by a medium rare fillet with a cheese/mushroom/garlic sauce. Excellent service, well worth a visit.
