Absolutely love this mall for its spacious feel, fantastic variety of entertainment for all ages, great selection of eateries and food court. It sets itself apart from other major shopping malls that I have been to, including Sandton City and Mall of Africa in Johannesburg, thanks to these features. A must see for anyone visiting Durban. Can't wait for the upgrades to be completed, which I am certain will raise the bar even higher.
The 2nd largest mall in the southern hemisphere is big; very big, which means you walk forever to get from the one end to the other. There are numerous shopping and eating opportunities with something for everyone, though I must confess to finding the mix mundane and generic. Very little to blow your mind and unique.
All the shops you could need all in one place. Even when very busy, it does not feel too crowded as the corridors are wide with high ceilings. Ample parking available. Good access from main routes of M4 and N2.
I've been to Gateway many times. And every time I leave the mall I always feel like I'm on top of the world. The shops are great, the customer service is top notch and all round experience is life altering. I recommend going to gateway to have an absolute blast. Have fun guys.
One of my favourite shopping centers. It has a beautiful water feature that light up at night creating a warm magical ambiance. A must go to shopping destination for everyone :)
Simply the best mall in Africa _ so much space _ off the freeway N2 and M4 _ lots of restaurants and shops _ The Wave House great for the kids while you shop _ clean and good security guards in place. Parking is secure and plentiful.
Just love this place. It's for the shopaholics. And the kids will have so much fun in the huge kiddies area
I totally love this mall. It's huge, it has everything you could ask for in a shopping experience. With it's vastness, you could however get easily lost if you don't know your way around.
Conveniently situated just off the freeway, so its easy to find and get to.
There is lots of parking and also convenient parking for mum with little ones and for people with disabilities.
There's interacting information stands for those seeking stores or looking for certain shops - these don't usually work very well.
It has a food court with a decent variety of take aways and seating. This is also close to the gaming area. And most restaurants are situated in that region.
The hours are flexible and cater for holidays and public holidays and most coffee shops and lounges close late.
Most of the retail stores usually have a good variety and are medium sized. It's convenient and okay for shopping for items and gifts but I wouldn't recommend shopping for groceries there. They have Checkers and Spar and others but on the occasions that I've shopped for groceries there - I've found it to be quite a headache. Those stores are situated in an awkward space and sometimes getting in and out with your trolley can be an issue.
The Mall is big so it's a constant struggle in some places if you're in a wheelchair or using a trolley (like wanting to us an elevator) especially in peak season.
The toilets are fair in distance considering the size of the place.
Security is not the best and could greatly improve. If you're with little kids then it's best to keep them in sight always.
One of my favourite malls to visit with everything under one roof. Great for quick lunches, formal dinners or just simple monthly shopping. A great place to hang out with friends with an awesome bowling alley and one of the best cinemas. Definitely worth a visit but be prepared to walk distances in this big mall.
