Despite the wide selection of beers on tap and the wonderful location, the burgers leave a lot to be desired. At the price point, one would at least expect the buns to be toasted and perhaps fresher. The staff are friendly, and the pizza is good, but avoid the burgers.

Extremely good place to grab a drink/meal with some friends. Place has a long history, and nicely organised. Dog friendly, screens to watch sport on. Some interesting menu choices, as well as reasonable selection of beer and wine.

A Cape Town classic. Great sporting, family, student spot. Pizzas are amazing but the pork belly is something special. And the home brewed beer is a winner too. Been coming here since varsity for 20 years and hope to enjoy it for another 20 years at least!

A really lovely OLD pub. Great variety of beers. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good menu with tapas options included. Just note that when you order the 6 chicken wings you actually only get 6 half chicken wings. When I queried this I was told that the waiter was supposed to inform me of this. They then brought me a few more to make up for it. Overall definitely worth a visit and great for watching sporting events.

Great atmosphere, space and menu. Be prepared to spend a little extra compared to other places, mainly because you will sit for a while. Outdoor area is leafy and green and inside warm and cozy. Even kids can join with their menu. Just, for the love of life. Uber!

Nice place. Service was slow. Ordered 6 craft beer tastings but the waitress got our order wrong. Waited a very long time for a Mozzarella pizza, which was just a base (hardly any cheese). It was my first time and I just expected more for a mid afternoon week day.

Good food and great outdoor seating area's. The outdoor children's play area is fantastic as it has provision for the parents to watch over them from the tables in the same area. Trees and natural greenery really add to the serene atmosphere

Forries continues to deliver hearty, well priced, food on a consistent basis. I have been going here for 34 years and have never had a disappointing meal. The Sunday Roast is something you have to do at least ten times in your life. In summer the outside area is a great place to hangout with mates and suck on a few quiet one's. And it's a great place to meet for a few beers after work, before the rugby, or even an lunchtime meeting.

One of my favourite pubs in Cape Town. Friendly service, plenty of beers ti choose from, and always a good vibe. The menu is great and food was delicious. Inside and outside sitting areas, all very comfortable. An awesome pub.

The Sunday roast is amazing. As is all their food. The kids play area at the back is really nice on a warm evening but book a table!

Really nice place with good food. It's also really convenient if you stay around the neighborhood because it's not really connected to anything. Still is just a nice place to go from time to time though.

Lots of beer. Local, craft and international. Good food at reasonable prices. The fireplace makes it cozy inside. Best to reserve a table.

Awesome place! Pizzas and burger are amazing! Service is good. Great catering for kids with a jungle gym and play areas. Company events get really fun too :) Classic historical brewery in the back and a really sweet history to the whole place really – 1852 to present – check it out! Parking can be scarce though.

The atmosphere was good, if you like the Cape Town scene. A wide selection of beer, a tad bit expensive. The food not good at all and the prices are outrageous for the food that you get. Bland does not even start to describe the taste. Waiters are not very clued up. The one that served us, just randomly attended another table while still taking our order. Big clouds of smoke due to there indoor fireplace not extracting the smoke.

Probably the best pub to eat, drink and enjoy sport at in all of Cape Town. Family friendly, great selection of premium and craft beer.

Nice calm atmosphere with reasonably priced drinks. Popular with the college crowd while still bringing in older folks who live in the area. Good for a weekend under the trees

Awesome food with vast beer selection and a cool vibe. The fact that they have been around so long is a testament to the way the business is operated. Great place for a relaxing lunch or to watch a game after work. The service is consistently top notch. Really enjoy sitting outside when the weather is nice. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the neighborhood!

As far as pubs go, this one has been around and stood the test of time. Great setting. Great pub grub. Magic service and the Manager is always helping and available to his patrons.
Nice playground for kids. Friendly locals make this a great place to eat.
