Before today I used to recommend Doppio Zero to everyone I know. This morning the service was absolutely terrible and we waited 40minutes for our food, only to come out overcooked and cold.

Food and service great. Just can't figure out why the waiters take things off your table for another customer without asking first. Bit rude, i mean if its on my table its mine right

Absolutely excellent. Food always made to perfection. Waitresses are polite and efficient, never had a problem with them. Nice vibe. People moaning about the price need to get better salaries. People moaning about service need to be better people themselves.

Food not too bad. Poor service and untrained staff. Extremely expensive with normal soda drinks, costing a ridiculous R23!!?

ppio Zero, a instant notice for me when driving past and seeing their wonderful water fountain, lights and cover over their outside area. They have undergone an impressive remodeling and I am impressed with the decor.

Upon arrival I was seated by my waiter Aaron, who unfortunately I only learned the name of later on in my visit. I was granted Wi-Fi as I normally am ayt the other Doppios which I was glad about the consistency in keeping people connected and able to share their experience. When I sat down I was not impressed when I asked Aaron to watch my laptop bag while I got the bathroom for a second and upon my return he had walked away from the table and I bumped into him by the door there, although it may have been safe form their perspective it was not comforting for me. When I ordered my hot beverage form the manager as Aaron was no where to be seen, Aaron brought it to me and it was delicious. I had a "Moccachino" - those of you who do not, a hot chocolate with a shot of espresso in it. A sweet awakening indeed. Sadly, I had to request sugar instead of it being put down before receiving my sweet awakening. Is it not the norm to do that?

I ordered for dinner a "Aglio Olio El Greco" - Grilled halloumi, olive oil, garlic, cherry tomatoes, chopped basil & Parmesan shaving. I also added chicken to the meal. Pene was my pasta of choice, always easier to eat Pene without making a mess.

Welcome bread was presented in a basket, it was soft, but not warm so I am not too sure how fresh it was. never the less it was delish, sauces followed it as well. I tried the garlic focused one, went very well with the bread.

It was hot, juicy and delicious. I have had similar at other Italian restaurants before, but this one has been the best so far. Larger portion and a lot more flavors to it. The cherry tomatoes gave it a natural sweet taste to combat the bitterness of the Parmesan, not much of a taste came from that ingredient. The chicken was cooked properly and the basil present. Fortunately the garlic was not too over powering which is the mistake most people make when doing Italian dishes.

Only criticism I could provide for my meal of choice is that there was a lot of oil at the bottom of the bowl, it did not bother or hamper my ability to eat, perhaps it is meant to be like that as my other meal with similar dishes have also had oil present at the bottom. though this looked like a lot.

My friend who I was catching up with had a ginger and mint tea, which they did enjoy. only problem I could find with the tea was that Aaron kept messing bits of the tea out of the spout.

It was close to closing time and Aaron did request kindly that we pay so he can cash up which from experience and being in his position before for 3 years I can understand, relate and respect.

All in all, the vibe was good, comfortable and pleasant. A return visit is going to occur

Food bland.. all of it, and over priced .. Explained to the manager, although he did not seem to care.. Paying R750 for 2 people to eat with a few drinks, is too much..We worked out that the same meal and drinks would have cost us not more than R150 if we did it ourselves.. I would rather suggest you do Rocco Mamma's right across them, as their food way more tasteful, at half the price

Restaurants need to understand that when you go there, it is not that you have too much money and you want to waste it, but that you expect a great experience and good food.. and not something that you can prepare yourself better at a fraction of the cost.

Love the outside setting, and great food! Service was slightly poor, but only due to the business of the restaurant. Love place for lunch and a glass of wine!

This Doppio used to be the bomb. My wife and I have been going there for years. Then they became more and more expensive. Becoming expensive is ok, but you need to back it up with better service and better food. In my experience the service has got worse and the food is not worth the money anymore. Hopefully they will step it up again.

Food, surprisingly decent especially the salads.
However the desserts are anything but great. The ice creams look old and full of artificial colouring. So just that would need some revamping. Not a bad place for a casual lunch or coffee.

Awesome food. Very busy, need to get runners to clear tables drop off orders. Waiters are good but with the amounts of people some customer service fails. Staff are helpful and this does make up for the wait. Will definitely visit again.
