Worth a visit even if you're not into history it's still an interesting place to go and visit
Tourists seem to be their main clientele and so is the service - inattentive and rather uninterested. Leaves-covered (trees above terrace) tables are cleaned on enquiry only and for having the glasses topped up with the bottle of wine that is 10m away you need to ask them 3 times - a long time to go, beacause you rather don't see them.
Wonderful hotel with a lovely staff - you will feel right at home! And the hotel is situated in the heart of Stellenbosch
A wonderful hotel. The staff was absolutely marvelous and went out of their way for our honeymoon. The location is absolutely central in Stellenbosch and there are many things to do by food all around. The restaurant (Helena's) is delicious, and they have a very nice selection of wines. Would definitely recommend!
We went there for a spa treatment. They could only take one person at the time but they offered us to use the steam room while we waited. I don’t think they have ever use the steam room before since it was set to 90 degrees Celsius 😂. So after figuring out the panel I finally got it down to a useful temp. Not the best massage I have ever gotten but it is reasonably priced.
Lovely room and amazing service and food
Great food
Best cheese cake. Friendly and helpful staff
Well appointed, efficient and friendly staff, excellent kitchen, avoid room twelve, it's very noisy
Charming boutique hotel with a cozy fireplace, romantic dining, and cozy rooms. My only small complaint was that we stayed in room 6 which was above the kitchen -- so it was a bit loud during cleanup.
Location was perfect, staff was AMAZING. We arrived late in the evening after our flight and unfortunately the kitchen had closed, but we were hungry. The manager called around to numerous restaurants in the area to try to get us a seat. After many misses he managed to get us into a restaurant down the street (that had already technically closed) so we could have a late dinner.
Love this place. Best breakfast in Stellies
Dined at the hotel's restaurant. It was simply memorable. The food and wine was exquisite, a piece of art. The service: friendly, professional and warm.
The old elegant interior of the dining room(one could be seated in front of the hotel for a classic café feel or inside, for a more private milieu. ) sets one in a relaxed mood. The dining room is not overly large, so one's conversation can be heard at all times without rising one's voice.
A perfect place to take your favorite friends, loved ones or someone special.
A small but delightful boutique hotel that exceeds expectations. Staff were warm and inviting, the spaces absolutely lovely, and the rooms, although a bit small, were clean, comfortable, and luxurious. The bathrooms are especially lovely.
There is an amazing restaurant downstairs, and the breakfast is probably the best Ive had in a hotel in a very long time. The bar area is also very inviting, and the lobby room is a lovely place to relax, especially with a roaring fire burning during winter.
The location is something special. You're practically in the middle of the best place in Stellenbosch. There are a handful of great restaurants, little boutique shops and more popular stores all within easy walking distance.
I cannot recommend Coopmanhuijs more, and will definitely book there again.
