Lovely ambience and efficient service.
The bread basket was generous and the bread really delicious so is the chocolate selection.Food beautifully presented. Will definitely go again.

The perfect restaurant to visit when celebrating that special occasion. The service was top notch. They were very accommodating of dietary requirements. We couldn't fault the food. Every dish was delicious and prepared with the freshest ingredients.

Casalinga has long been one of my favourite restaurants. On this occassion they did us proud, including being very careful with my dietary needs. I recommend Casalinga for an intimate dinner for two or for small or large groups

Really well defined fantastic restaurant. Chef was really informative, gave us a good brief of what the specials were. Even did our gnocchi in a different way than what was on our menu. Split one of our meals so that we could share. I'm a chocolate milkshake lover (self proclaimed connoisseur) the best one I've had thus far. All in all, good background music, good win(would recommend bringing your own to save money) but great vibe and place.

Awesome staff, awesome food! Great venue with a lovely garden or should I say farm sort of space outside so one can walk off their meal! Also; there is space to land your helicopter if you're in to that sort of thing.

Casalinga was always a go-to for good food, well served, in unusual surroundings. Imagine our disappointment when taking international guests there with promises of a great South African dining experience.

Artichoke starters - canned and quite unsuccessfully worked over the hide the fact that is was not fresh. Seafood soup looked good, and according to my guest, was. The other 2 starter dishes were absolutely unremarkable. Main course: of course the steaks were good - any line cook should be able to handle a flattop. BUT: bulk bought creamed spinach available as a side dish in pretty much every mediocre South Africa restaurant. Really?? The cauliflower concoction was similarly pre-prepared, watery, tasteless and utterly unimaginative.

And then, the worst! The pasta dish: Fatti’s & Moni’s badly overcooked mixed pasta, laden with what my guest described as “little pieces of vegetables and other stuff in it”. She left her food uneaten. What happened to handmade pasta? Decent, identifiable, edible sauces? You know, the fare you used to be known for?

This from a restaurant who used to serve only fresh; caring about the quality of their fare, is awfully disappointing. We all left totally underwhelmed.

I’m sure the chefs would never dream of dishing this up if they were entertaining friends in their homes - and isn’t that really what a good restaurant is? We come to your “house” for dinner, partaking in dishes you are proud to share with guests.

For our next visit with important guests - not Casalinga.

The one star? Good wine man.

Whatever you let slip over the years, do a good “back to basics” makeover.

We had our wedding at Casalinga and it was the best night of my life. The service is amazing, the food is amazing, the vibe is amazing, the venue is amazing. 10/10 would recommend - for lunch, dinner, functions, etc.

A bit of a drive especially if coming from Northern Johannesburg. Property at times play host to food and music festivals. Restaurant can be booked for private functions - plenty of parking.

By far the best upmarket restaurant in the West rand area. Five star treatment from the minute you walking in to your meal to the end. Staff and management are very professional and helpful. The food was great. Well done to Management for keeping a high standard. Well done.

Beautiful venue. We had a work function here and everything was amazing. Food and drink was served with great efficiency, waiters were very friendly and competent.

The quality of the food was top notch. Also had Craft beer and coffee which both was brilliant!

We had an incredible time at Groves and Vineyards. Great food, drink and music. I would however advise not taking small kids. There is a great play area, but it impacted my ability to enjoy the complete experience. My fault not the organisers!

Amazing venue for functions. Service is good and the food selection is fantastic. They went out of their way to accommodate me even though it what was not in the set menu. I told the manager I have a gluten and dairy allergy and they made a plan to make me a complete separate meal.

We had a terribly disappointing meal which started with us being seated at a table with one seat in a doorway, despite making a reservation 2 weeks before. After requesting another table, we were seated in the main dining room. Our 10 year old daughter had eyed the fillet on the bone and decided to just share a few ravioli off her mom's plate. However, we were presented with 2 half portions at R65 each. My gnocchi was a bit bland and dry and we had eaten more than half the starter before a waiter arrived with parmesan and a grater. This lifted the dish completely but should have happened as the plates arrived. My lamb shank was tough and dry, the pork belly skin was soggy and the fillet on the bone was blue instead of medium. When the fillet returned, it had been charred in smoke and tasted awfully acrid. I mentioned our experience to the floor manager and received a call from Lloyd the next day but he was not interested in hearing what I had to say, just insisting that they will mail me a voucher for a free meal, which I am not interested in. But the point is - rather receive and understand the criticism and fix the problems. I phoned 3 days later to speak to the owner and am still awaiting the return call. BTW..the voucher was never received either. Poor service, bad food. Not the Casalinga I remember from a few years back. It is quite sad actually!

Just got back from Casalinga and unfortunately found the whole experience very disappointing. The food was just not up to the standard of the pricing. Starter was bland and seafood was over done, was offered pepper when almost finished. Glassy potatoes, ordered a medium-rare steak it was blue, got a steak knife half way through the meal. Ravioli described "with a hint of chilli" was full of chilli and really quite spicy. Service not great. Won't go back and don't recommend.

Love the vibe of the place on a Sunday. Kids on bikes. The real garden. People wandering about in a weekend daze. Great food. You pay 20%+ more than mainstream restaurants for the same nominal food but it is worth it. Grapes coated in sugar glaze are my Achilles' heel.

Best pasta served elegantly with attentive waiters. The 3 coloured pasta, gnocchi and ravioli. We were told the pesto is made from all the herbs grown at the farm. The gardens are lovely. And next door is the Chocolate Tier so you can combine the visits.
