Worst Builders EVER! The shop is a right mess. No order and what makes it worse is that the staff is completely disinterested in helping the customers. We waited for 20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to help us. Then we waited another 20 while she went to check on the items we wanted and even though they had excess in stock we got told "one of the EMPLOYEES was hiding the stock because it's on special so she can't help us". I have never heard something so ridiculous! I'd recommend you never go there.

Always well stocked, they usually have what you need most of the time. Staff are super friendly and very helpful indeed. Store is nice and clean all of the time. Parking is no issue as there is plenty available. Prices are petty good you. Bakery is awesome and goods are aways fresh. Same for the delicatessen too. I always shop here if I possible can.

Live close by to the store, often visit the store due to items needed for work. Service is fair ones received, yet most time you have to go looking for assistance.
Recently they have moved their shelves closer to one another making it near impossible to comfortably transit around the store.
Have found Gelmar across from builders more affordable or general items and better services.

I purchased a sander and asked during the purchase if I needed to replace a part of the Sander if they could help me. Builders assured me that this was not a problem and that they replaced these parts for many clients on a regular basis. The time has come for a replacement part . I have asked on 6 separate occasions for them to order the part. I have not once received a call back on my request.

i even went as far as to complain to the floor manager on a Saturday who also took down my details still no reply regarding my issue.

In total it has been over 8 months of a struggle and I still can't use my Sander!

Lots of variety and stock are carried at this Builders Warehouse as one would expect. The prices are reasonable which is also expected. However, it seems to be the luck of the draw when it comes to helpfulness of the staff. Some don't seem to be bothered to even ask if help is needed, others are more than willing to help.

I ordered and paid for a fire grate at beginning of November. They gave me wrong one. I took it back. Now I have been waiting 6 months and every time I go in I get told that I will be contacted soon and it will be here soon. No one ever gets back to me and I just do not know how to get this fire grate that I have been promised and that I have paid for. If I phone I am told that Chad who is dealing with this, is not available and they will call back. They never do. Can anyone Help?

Large and popular hardware store. I just find their service a bit inconsistent hence the 3 stars. Your smaller local hardware store often is best if you need advice and price checks. Today was a good day possibly because they weren't so busy. Tomorrow.Who knows. Anyway you can find most everything here. Prices are average. Definitely not Wow. There is a coffee bar and that's extremely average too. Gardening/potted plant section really good though.

Best experience ever! A very nice salesman in the paint dept took my trolley and list and came back five minutes later with everything. Normally one gets ignored. Thank you.

Big premises with tons of free parking. An incredibly large variety of everything and anything you could need. Had the Sunday roast for lunch, really great value for money, go there hungry ;-) friendly and helpful staff too. Also open later than most other hardware stores which is great.

I paid for 3 rain tanks on line and a delivery date of 30 October was confirmed. 3 days and plenty phone calls later and and I am still waiting for the tanks. No one can confirm an actual delivery date or time.

    Absolutely shocking customer service!

    Completely useless
I have been waiting a board cut guy for more than 30mm and have been told that they were both on tea time
How can you guys treat customers like this
Don't forget that your salaries are getting paid with our money
If you don't wanna work leave your position to another else
You are lucky that there is no concurence in the Constantiaberg area
    Just unacceptable

Terrible costumer service. Staff with bad or no knowledge of the products they sell. The website is not reliable either. I always leave the store angry or frustrated. Go somewhere else.

Incompetent; lying pathetic!! I had purchased a fireplace and paid for delivery; which was scheduled to occur a few days later on 1 September. Driver and truck arrive; driver not able to manoeuvre truck up driveway so they don't deliver and drive off. I receive a call to assure me it will be delivered on Saturday. Saturday afternoon I receive a call to say it will be the Mon; which I request to be changed to the morning of Tues 5 Sep.Again I am s=assured of a call on Tues morning to confirm timing. By 14:30 on 5 Sep I call and they assure me its being loaded as we speak and will be delivered shortly. Its now 6 Sept 08:40; no delivery and no call. Clearly they are incompetent and lie about matters and hope the customer will just sit around all day and wait for them. Failing delivery by 12:00 I will cancel the order and go elsewhere.

I've had a generally positive experience with Builder's Warehouse over the years. The have almost always had what I needed. Sometimes I have to wait for staff to become available to help, but not often. The staff are generally very knowledgeable and if they can't help, I've been advised to visit other stores that can. My biggest gripe is that they are typically expensive. Overall a good store.

When dealing with this company I have experienced some of the most pathetic and unacceptable service encountered in a long time.
I can fully appreciate that in any company 1 employee can cause a problem, no matter how strong a business is on their service and quality support level, but unfortunately in this case, every single person I have had contact with was incompetent in resolving what was clearly a simply task of providing a carpeting quote and confirming what exactly they had quoted on.

On their website they proudly disclaim to employing only the best people and providing service excellence. Well neither claim is correct and sadly either their management is as incompetent as their staff, or they simply do not share the same values that you so proudly state on their website.

For those that don't care and just want to shop and go, no problem. For those that may need support and someone that actually cares and make it their job to sort out any problem, best you find an alternative supplier.

The complete lack of assistance was terrible, I needed assistance in the power tool section and after at least 10 minutes I called over to 3 people who ignored me and walked on! Then to the paint division
where it seemed every assistant in the shop
congregated having a social chat amongst themselves, when I approached someone leaning, leg up against a counter he POINTED in the general direction of where I could find my paint. Surely you can ensure that in areas where technical help is needed you have people stationed there permanently and for goodness sake some training in basic customer etiquette! Don't you read your reviews, all bad reviews are about your staff, lack of ability, lack of assistance, wow I would think effort to sort that out would be top priority, guess not. I would rather shop online!

Watch out when returning items. Paid on a debit card, returned item next day-all slips available. Told no credits can be passed to a debit card as banks do not permit this and I must take cash. I refused. It is illogical, imagine if you purchase something for R10,000 on a debit card-must you get refunded with a bag of cash? After being treated very poorly but having stood my ground a credit to my debit card was passed in no more than 30sec. Leaves you wondering if they use us customers to clear the cash from their store rather than paying CIT fees. Feels like a scam. Anyway insist on your refunds back to your debit card, it is possible and very easily done on the card machines.
