Standing in the line for 5 hours now. Just happy that there was no restriction with the numbers for license renewal.
Good thing that people over 65 were allowed to jump the queue and given priority.
I think that there should be a line for pensioners separate from the mainline as you will have continuity. The mainline stalls for up to 40 minutes at times if there are a number of pensioners that are put in front.
Suggest the pensioners jump the queue to the eye testing section and from there 2 separate lines

I went to renew my DL. Go there at 4.30am expected to be parked outside for a while. Some staff arrived at 5am and let those waiting in to park safely. Offices opened promptly at 7am, super efficient staff, good crowd control, was done just before 8am.

Dropped someone off at 9am on a Saturday to book learners license.. it's currently heading for 3 hours been waiting cause they've been told to go for fingerprints first before paying at the cashiers yet no one is at any of the booths for fingerprints, when you query it with the cashiers they tell you to wait there someone will assist who Caspar? Rather disappointed as Winklespruit was recommended for their fast services

Went to renew my driver's license. It did take a while because they kept going offline. However, we were constantly kepi informed.

The place was very clean co pared to other outlets. Even the bathrooms. There was social distancing no pushing and shoving. When it got close to closing time we were informed that the computers were offline again. They were not sure how long it would take to come on line. Many chose to leave but there were others like myself who stayed on. They came back on line and they lady behind the counter actually apologised for the slowness of the system.
This is not what you get at other centre's.

Very polite from from the security all the way to making your payment.

HATS OFF TO YOU FOLK KEEP UP WITH THE GREAT SERVICE.

Another return trip after 5 years. It was pathetic, the security guards are more helpful than any staff member. Who works 7am to 2pm and has a 1 hour lunch break?. It took over 3 hours to get done. I had an approved eye test but still had to follow the one and only queue there's no distinction.

This DLTC was recommended to me by a colleague. I went to go renew my driver's license. I waited 3 hours for a 20 minute admin process. That being said, that's probably the best you'll get around Durban.
Advice would be to arrive early. I got there at 06:30 AM and was still quite far back in the line.

One star is a compliment, the service was way below par, no idea of public "service". I am glad that this is a standard procedure across the board with a number of people finding the same level of dis-service.
Contact me, impress me with your ability to solve problems and I may change my rating. Stonewalling and hiding behind coloured bits of paper doesn't cut it in my book, particularly when I followed the rules to the T as explained by the senior manager at Akasia.

Very pleasant experience, social distancing was enforced and delays fairly short. Very efficient staff team.

PRO TIP: have an eye test done beforehand so you don't have to have one done at the testing centre.

Overall very pleasant

Could have another table to fill in relevant forms however.

Wow! Best experience I've ever had with a government facility. Got there at 8 (I thought I was way too late) ended up walking in thinking they were closed as there was no long queue and we greeted by some very friendly staff😁. They assisted us with the whole process. Every single staff member was efficient and respectable. Kudos to the staff👌🙏 Get your eye tests done externally!!! I skipped the long queue that needed to get their eye test done on site.

I had the most pleasant experience with all who helped me today, polite, professional. I couldn't believe I was still in South Africa. In fact every member of the public got that same experience. The cherry on top for me was they even put up a sign we do not close for lunch, a clear indication of how dedicated the staff are. I wish this could spread to all government departments. Well done keep it up

10/10 to the Winkle testing grounds 😻 got there at 6am, was 3rd in line (most people arrived around 6:30am). All the staff were extremely efficient, all queries were helped and dealt with too. They began at 7am sharp (which is the opening time) and I was out by 7:40am done and dusted 😻👍I was there for a licence renewal. (30 October 2019)

Not a great experience. Make sure you get a green form. Make sure you take proof of residence with a valid date and MOST importantly do yourself a favor and get an eye test done at an optometrist. You will save yourself hours of waiting!

It's quick, in and out. Was there to book for a Learners test, arrived just before 8 and was done by 9:30. The secuties are very helpful in directing you and the que. At the time it was not really full, there was enough seating for everyone and it was very peaceful.

My wife and I went to renew our drivers licences today and were prepared for the worst.
Arrived at the Winkelspruit testing grounds at 7.30 and were most impressed by the friendly and efficient staff on duty.
The Isidingo security guards assisted with queries and queues as well.
The waiting area is undercover with toilet facilities nearby.
The whole experience took 30 mins to complete, what a pleasant surprise!
5 star treatment and compliments to the management and staff!

Took us 5 hours to work through 2 queues. It is better to arrive around 12o'clock instead of being there as they open. We arrived at 730am and the queue was LONG. By 1130 the first queue was virtually non existant while were still queuing for eye test and fingerprints which took 4 hours. Then onto the cashiers into another queue for an hour. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Not my fav place to spend a Saturday morning.

Disorganised, staff rude treat public like cattle .Poor signage everybody knew that there was load shedding at 10 but they only had 1 cashier working until 0950 then they added a second cashier. A bit late to move a crowd ☹

Me and my wife had to renew our drivers licences. We tried Marianhill -System down Hopeless. We tried Verulam - Even worse ! Then we decide to try Winkelspruit - what a difference.! Friendly, helpful hardworking and competent staff. Within 30 minutes done and dusted. Absolutely excellent service .Thank you Winkelspruit you are tops!!

The phone is never answered. What is the correct number? Website said that they are opened on Saturday but after a long drive there it was closed. The female security outside was as rude as most of the staff at winkelspruit testing grounds. Guys, remember you are servants of the public, we are not doing a service to you.

Arrived at 8.30am with about 30 people there to renew licence. They said they are now closed because they can not handle more people. Would not give me a green form to fill in. I wish i worked until 8.30 every morning.

I went to write my learns licence test toady the old lady who was giving us instructions is so rude and she shouts all the time to get a message across . I honestly feel she has to be taught as to how you work with people it was just flat out respectful pointing another grown person in the face to get message across . with out listening to reason that behavior is utterly unacceptable .

As far as "government employees" go, the guys here at winklespruit testing ground are pretty good. Service is fairly fast and efficient.
