The branch staff are, at least, friendly.
Always seems that whenever I need something I need the one service with a queue while many tellers are waiting for customers. Seems like tellers are overly specialized. I shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes to pick up a card if there are free staff members.
Getting to the front of the queue, I have to wait an additional 30 minutes while they find keys to the cupboard with the cards. And then, despite having received an sms that the card is ready, someone clearly forgot to file it in the right place. Because the card is not in the cupboard.
Morning gone. And apparently no one knows where my new credit card is. Thanks absa.
And by the way, the contact number in the automated sms that you sent out is incorrect and has been changed.
The incompetence is so complete it's actually humorous!
Following up: the courier company is apparently at fault. So now I will go back to a branch at a different date and try and retrieve the card for a second time. I'm assuming I will get the card Otherwise I'll update this review.
Follow up: The courier asked me to fetch my card from a nondescript, un-branded white van. I have continued to receive SMS notifications that my card is ready for collection. I assume this is just another error but honestly it might be hard to tell the difference between fraud and this branch's service.
Also. My old card doesn't seem to have been disabled, and I can't use either card online.
CAN YOU PLEASE GET SOMETHING RIGHT next time I come into your branch to sort this out.
And a few months later Did you know that standard banks fees are lower?? 🙃
I've been helped by Zelda Webster twice when at ABSA. Once at Heerengracht and once at the Waterfront branch. She is exceptionally good at her job and seems to be able to resolve any issue. She recognises the faces of people she's helped and insists on helping them again. It feels like she genuinely cares and it seems that she must get great satisfaction out of giving impeccable service - thank you Zelda.
