It is nice enough to look at, but First Beach is around 10 meters of beach surrounded by jagged rocks. Go to Second Beach if you want to have a walk on the beach. I really wouldn't recommend swimming at either of the Dana Bay beaches. Try Diaz Beach in Mossel bay for that.

You can only access this beach down a rocky path as the stairs have long since washed away. It's really only suitable for a walk at low tide, when you will be able to take a short walk over gorgeous rock formations and past perfectly round rock pools. Walk past the small overhang which, I'm sure, would provide great shade if it were hot. But it isn't even remotely hot today, in fact, It's freezing. But the sun is shining and the winds are still so it's perfect for a walk. Solitude and peace are accentuated by the piping moquini and the soaring seagulls. It's everything you need for an hour on the beach between work commitments.

A great beach to walk along. When swimming here BE VERY CAREFUL !!! The sea currents here are seriously dangerous.

Beautiful and excellent relaxation location. No lifeguards and dangerous to swim here, but still excellent to play in the shallow waters!
