I visited about a week ago. Food is creative, yet only somewhat well executed. I had the shrimp taco, veggie taco, and one with pork and fried carrots on it. The last was the best, however the carrots were mushy; pork had great flavor. I was not impressed whatsoever with the veggie taco; not exciting, bland flavor, and skimpy with the vegetables. Shrimp taco was nice. We ordered a pitcher of cranberry margharita (I cannot remember the name). It was incredibly weak and watered down. We spoke with a manager after sometime and he was rather unsympathetic to what we said, however he took half of the price off which we appreciated, but it was with some struggle. I believe that when you're paying $40 for a pitcher, it should at least have alcohol and some potency. Altogether, not bad in the area, however I have definitely had better. I'd come here again if some changes were made.
The food is delicious and the restaurant has a really unique ambiance. The service is very quick and nice, but it is constantly busy due to the very nice location. This is a really nice place for a somewhat quick place to get some really good food.
Fun spot. You enter through an alley that looks like trouble. Worth the risk. I had the carnitas and loved them. We were there on a busy night and were seated quickly. The service was slow and our waitress was struggling to keep up. Other staff helped out and our food arrived on time and hot. I would come back for dinner when in town.
Very nice place. Welcoming staff and server was great. Food was very good. Drinks were great. Relatively small menu but very good food.
This restaurant every time I visit it has one of thee best taco bowls I have ever feasted upon. I highly recommend this place if you are in the downtown Cleveland area. The margaritas are a great value as-well and taste splendid.
Great Margaritas! Pork sandwich is excellent! Complimentary chips and salsa are delicious. Generous portions
I gotta say, was pleasantly surprised here.
Chorizo burger and fries for me, spent the entire meal in bliss. Dopamine overload. Everything cooked well, kind and thoughtful servers, cheap booze (very important), and they have good salsa.
Seriously, that’s all of the checkmarks. Nailed ‘em.
Expensive place and small serving sizes. The places has a hip atmosphere. I recommend getting the skinny margarita. It is fresh and not too sweet.
Good food. Super busy and a bit loud though. Service was a bit slow. The atmosphere was great and the food was authentic.
I was here last summer and was blown away about how great this place was. I've recommended this place to countless people telling them that it has the best Mexican food that I've ever had. The menu last summer had so many great choices. When we made the two hour drive back today we were incredibly disappointed. The old menu was gone and replaced with a one page menu with very limited choices. The food was okay but nothing like it was last summer. Needless to say we won't be making the two hour drive for Zocalo ever again.
Oh my gosh!!! The best Mexican food I've had in a long time!!! The margaritas are great!!! Must try if in the area. Service was good too.
Amazing food, great experience. I enjoyed the tacos and the bowl! Not sure what the bad reviews are about. And the chips / salsa are amazing glad I stopped here before I seen the reviews.
Seven of us go to the bar for a drink. Two of us got yelled at by a waiter in the bar for sitting at his table as one of us was ordering a round from the bartender. MOST of the tables in the bar area were empty. We were only having one drink but had to stand although there were seats available that were not being used. Plus, the WHOLE downstairs area was empty for seating diners. It would have been different if they were busy. Needles to say, we drank quickly and left. I will say the bartender was pleasant though.
I can't begin to explain how horrible our experience was with this company! I booked a surprise 65th birthday dinner for my husband for 20 people, and it was a DISASTER! From refusing to return phone calls to the fact that our table was nowhere near ready when my guests arrived to decorate and await the "surprise" greeting, to awful service and extremely bland mediocre food, the entire night was a disappointment. When I walked in with my husband, instead of going to a table filled with his friends and family, we were thrown into a crowded bar area where he accidentally encountered the people who were supposed to be at our party. When we did finally get our table, it was partially in the entrance to the kitchen, and was extremely loud. There was only 1 server assigned for 20 people. While I had called ahead to arrange for a couple of severe food allergies, and was assured that it would be taken care of that evening, I was extremely embarrassed that my guests had to sit with no food and wait for a ridiculously long time to make arrangements for their "special" food. iI had brought a cake, and when it was served no one asked my guests if they'd like coffee or tea with dessert- IN FACT OUR SERVER WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. I grabbed another server and was told they'd have to brew a pot of coffee- they didn't have an- my guests were already eating their cake at that point!!!! I could go on and on- but fair warning- STAY AWAY! -Gail Spiro
We walked into Zocalo on New Years Eve, and were greeted right away by a friendly young lady. We were seated in 10 minutes and waited on by Chanel. She did a fantastic job, even though the place was packed and she was very busy. Never did we feel rushed. Our food arrived hot and was very good. We asked for more salsa and it arrived quickly. Chanel was amazing and so was our visit to Zocalonice way to finish
