Good place to fish if you have the patience

Zepernick is a beautiful lake, and used to be great for fishing, but it is still recovering from being drained. Lots of small fish, but it will be a couple of years before it's worth the trip. Canoeing or kayaking is a great way to use the lake. They have a ramp, and you can use motors up to 10hp. The land around the lake is well kept up, and it would be nice for picknicks by the water. No swimming. Lots of weeds in the water make fishing from shore difficult.

Good place to hunt, but didn't see much for pheasant. The state supposedly released a bunch of birds here but we didn't run across many.

Beautiful wildlife area, wonder and calm spot for fishing. (Though they drained the lake a few years ago and I'm not sure, but I think there's only baby fish in there! Haven't caught anything large, have caught many baby large mouth bass.)
