I’m sitting on a $8000 rebuild that lasted less than 3500 miles because of the faulty installation the harmonic balancer and brand new timing belt. These guys took over 3 1/2 months to rebuild our Subaru motor and it only lasted less than 3500 miles. Towed the car to Zen and after 3 weeks they never bothered to take it apart to identify the problem. Had to have car towed to another shop to have it taken apart to identify the cause of the motor failure which is absolutely 100% to blame on the incorrect installation of the balancer which destroyed timing belt and seized the motor. Total engine loss. Dan Kang at Zen refuses to take any responsibility for the failure of the motor. Pretty much told me “ not our fault sorry about your bad luck”. Won’t stand behind his work. $8000+ down the tubes. Do yourself a favor and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I will say these guys are super nice while they are making money off of you but they are so unorganized and do not stand behind their work. During the 3 1/2 months that they had our car during the rebuild we had to provide them with several parts we had to order ourselves and and deliver to them.. among those parts they lost our brand new set of fuel injectors and never even bothered to pay us for them or replace them. And be sure that if it is race season their main focus is on their own projects.

In response to the post from Dan at Zen Motors:
What a LUDICROUS PACK OF LIES!!! Dan you have lost your mind. 1. The "front end collision' was a MINOR FENDER BENDER and resulted in NO motor damage whatsoever! Which I provided you photographic PROOF of. 2. If I supplied you with any "incorrect parts" you as a professional should have known and refused to use them (which you DID NOT)..3. I don't think you can say I was on a "tight budget" after I spent over $8000 in your shop. And as for a discount LOL you discounted $300 in labor onlythat is a far cry from "thousand of dollars" as you claim. You would never discount thousands of dollars off of any job ever. Plain and simple You lost our parts (or sold them to someone else) and never replaced them. You owe us for that no ifs, ands or buts.. ..4. I have NEVER been screwed over by anyone in my family so clearly you have me mistaken for someone else. No one in my family has ever had anything to do with the rebuilding of this motor. 5.The oil sensor was tightened as per the instruction of your tech) who is actually to blame for not tightening it properly in the first place) and the oil light never came back on. The tear down of the motor clearly proves the failure had NOTHING to do with the oil pump or oil system. That has been 100% verified and documented.

Here you go folks, Typical Dan Kang making stuff up as he goes along. . And the only mistake I made was listening to himtrusting him and thinking that I was working with a reputable business. This is exactly what my first post addressedthey have done nothing but make up a bunch of reasons (lies) why its "not their fault"but the tear down and theTiming Belt tells the story. And I will have a credentialed professional telling the story in court on my behalf. I brought the car to Zen immediately when the motor seized (had to have it towed from the side of I-285) and it sat in their lot for over 2 weeks and they never even bothered breaking it down to SEE EXACTLY what the problem was. I would think since you had just built a motor and it failed after less than 3500 miles you as a business man would be very interested in finding the exact cause and establishing what you could/should do.but NOPE..not you.you just left it sitting in your lot and didn't bother. Get your facts straight Dan. You're going to need them! And lastly. I would never asked you to pay for my mistakesI only ask you to pay for YOUR MISTAKES!

A prime example of how Zen Motors treats its customersa bunch of MADE UP B.S. to avoid taking responsibility for their FAILURE! I have PROOF to support every thing I claim.

I have few modifications on my Mustang and get antsy going to dealers (they don't always get it). Swung by to meet Dan & his crew at Zen Motors to fix an exhaust issue from a speed bump. I was in and out in ~hour. Fast, exact, and on track - I'll be back again. Great work gize!

Dan and the crew at Zen Motors are a true import & domestic skilled shop that you hardly find anymore. It takes you back to the early 2000's when it was all about the builds, driving, and comradery , not just a 9-5. All the crew were very hospitable, friendly, and best of all, supportive to other local businesses. You wont find them hid in an office afterhours, they are on the track with their customers and that's what I value most from a local shop.

Zen motors is the best experience I’ve had with an automotive performance shop.

Dan @ Zen motors answered my email, and was very informative. We went back and fourth for awhile and I decided to drop the car at his shop one evening. They went over the car, gave me their thoughts and a plan of attack. This was executed, and it was literally a night and day difference. Again, literally a night and day difference. Car now makes 407whp, uses way less gas, and drives so smoothly. Dan kept me informed along the way, by email/phone. Very communicative.

Time to pick up the car, but couldn’t get there before 6pm, the time of closing. So Dan met me at his shop after hours so I could get the car. I would have never received this level of service at my previous shop. Dan really goes the extra mile and Zen will now be the shop my car goes to for any need.

I don't see why some people have low stars here. You get what you pay for folks. I have had many things done over many years. These guys are in the top 3% in Atlanta. It's not for everybody or someone wanting "caliper covers", but if you are seeking quality and honest work without any over selling you useless mods, please go to Zen and let the results speak for themselves.
