Classic MLB experience with all the Chicago trimmings. The grungy concourse is a vital part of the ethos. Walk up any ramp for the dramatic reveal of the legendary field and the historic hand operated scoreboard, with a blue summer sky background. A lifetime memory for a five year old making a first visit.
Always a fun experience at the park. The neighborhood is decent. Several rich and famous friends live nearby so they're usually picking up my tickets and tab. This should be a baseball shrine and move the MLB playing somewhere else. The Rickets are trying hard as investing much, but this ball park is a complete pain in the butt to attend.
I came here during the 2017 playoffs and watched the Cubs lose in spectacular fashion to the LA Dodgers. I got the cheap 'seats' - standing only. Although they lost, it was a great experience as everyone sang at the bottom of the 7th - took me back to the days when Harry would lead the crowd. Decent stadium and good food.
Caugh a few games at Wrigley Field and love the atmosphere. Good upkeep on an older stadium. One of the best sports towns in the states. Lots of places to eat and drink your sorrows away after the game around the stadium. I always found it funny that it didn't have stadium lighting to play night names until recently. We got really good tickets for a decent price but this is going back a few years when the Cubs sucked before the world series.
You can't go wrong with Wrigley. So much history in this ballpark. I would recommend purchasing seats if possible. We purchased standing room only due to the play offs and it was a mad house. There is a very nice common area outside where they displayed a massive TV. There are differently modern upgrades to this park.
Wrigley is a great place to watch a ball game. The place is historic, and shows its age in some places, but modern updates over the years have kept the place charming instead of run down. Concessions prices are sky high, but they have a very generous policy of letting you bring in any food or beverage you want (with typical alcohol, glass, metal restrictions). Everyone in the crowd is having a great time, and you will too.
Had a wonderful time at the game. Had EXCELLENT SEATS because someone had given me 2 of their seats 9 rows from the field. Food & drink prices are crazy high so take your own snacks in and a glass to get water out of the water faucets. I enjoyed the game immensely and the Cubs won in 10 innings.
The ushers were very friendly and knowledgeable of where things were in the park, no matter where you were. The ticket prices were accessible to people of all incomes, and the food wasn't too overpriced for a sports event. Service came in a reasonable amount of time. Seating was good from all sides; there was no bad view. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely return.
So historic Wrigley Field was all it was cracked up to be. the vibe was nice, the surrounding area bustling, the team won and the stadium was easy to navigate. Sitting in the bleachers is a MUST! This stadium embodies everything it means to be a baseball fan and I am happy to of made it there. The surrounding area is great and alcoholic beverage policies are great- got a wristband once and never had to take my ID out for a beer. Such a simple thing, but made the experience all the more enjoyable. If it's you first time head over to the fan assistance station and get a certificate- cool stuff.
Great game. Great food. We sat on the back row of the first level and there were constantly people standing up behind us watching the game from a better place and they were talking and yelling in our ear. That's fine if they paid for that seat but if they are just standing there it's different.
Investments are paying off all around Wrigley it still feels like the park but, it's getting better! New Video screen on the offices is amazing. Getting used to missing the bullpens - but I bet everyone in them was very glad Monday night (Wind Chill 37). Now if the bull pen would just perform as well as the starters we would not be below .500!
Awesome experience for true baseball fans. Hubby and I decided to catch a Cubs game while visiting Chicago. It was a beautiful Saturday in April, with 70 degree weather and the wind was blowing in the right direction. They were giving away miniature replicas of the world series trophy to the first 100 fans. We obviously didn't make it on time. The park still has that old baseball history and spirit within and you feel chills when you walk in, it's like walking into an old cathedral; all you can do is be in awe and be reverent.
The beers are costly but constantly flowing regardless. We bought some peanuts because you can't go to the park and not eat peanuts or crackerjacks. I loved being in there even as non-cubs fan, it was packed with die hard baseball fans and that's all that counts.
The line moves quickly. The food is decent and the merchandise prices are great. The bathroom lines move quickly. The view of the players/game is great from anywhere you seat. The Cub fans are cool they're not disrespectful towards the other teams fans - they are there to watch the game and have a good time. The reason they got 3 stars is for the gift they gave away on opening night - a refrigerator magnet with the season schedule on it: come on really!!! You are the World Series Champs and on opening night you only give away a measly refrigerator magnet? I've been to plenty of other sporting event and they give away hats, towels, shirts, trophy replica's etc. Any of those would have been better. Then there were no updates about the rain delay at all - no one made an announcement about how long it would be or anything. The only other bad thing is the sound system - its good on the bottom sections but horrible on the top sections. Overall, I liked the experience.
Major renovations have NOT destroyed the unique character and ambiance of this storied ball field. Twenty-first century changes have enhanced the experience. It's always been exciting to attend a baseball game here. Concerts are enjoyable also. And simply unbelievable that the World Series Champions play here. Go Cubs!
