I absolutely love going to World of Bikes in Iowa City. The staff is always friendly and helpful. A few years ago, my family had given me some World of Bikes gift cards so I could purchase a new bike shortly after I returned from a tour in Afghanistan. I stopped in the store and spoke with the owner, Ryan. I told him that I had just returned from overseas and was looking for a bike. He thanked me for my service and not only gave me an unbelievable deal on a new TREK, but gave me some in-store credit to buy some accessories as well. WOW!!! I will never forget that. I’m a World of Bikes customer for life!

Like many people, I feel a bit intimidated when I walk into any bike shop I try to DIY my bike maintenance as much as possible, but I still feel acutely amateur in a place like this. That said, I've been into this place many many times, and cant recall a single negative experience tools or accessories found and purchased, questions answered or repairs made. There's several good bike shops in town, so this is by no means your only option, but I'd never discourage anyone from hitting this place up for any of your bike related needs/wants.

Operated very professionally, this shop caters to the full range of cyclists. Knowledgeable staff and perhaps the finest mechanics in the state, not just Iowa city. Each semester the students that take my hand built bike courses, seeking out "where to go", always talk among themselves, go to various shops, and then almost always settle on WOB.

Took two third graders and a second grader into the store today to upgrade to 24" bikes. The staff was busy with lots of customers and we had endless questions (and consternation) about mountain bike vs road bike, trade-ins, accessories. Andrea could not have been more patient and pleasant and helpful. Everyone else working there seemed happy and eager to help too. They all seem to know how to handle a lot happening at once without getting frazzled or curt. Wonderful environment. We'll never go anywhere else.

This shop is great. The sales staff is always happy to see a customer walk through the door. You never get the feeling the would rather be talking to someone else or that you are wasting their time.

The bike techs are just as friendly and always happy to answer a question about bike repair. The quality and value of the repairs is top notch also.

The sales area is always clean and orderly, there are a ton of bikes to check out and they are all displayed in logical order. This makes checking out similar bikes really simple and you don't feel like you are being dragged all over the shop just to check out 3 different road bikes.

This shop has a well earned reputation as a beginner friendly bike shop, but they also have some of the hottest high end bikes in the area. If you are looking for the crown jewel in your stable, you owe it to yourself to check out World of Bikes.
