If I could give a zero star rating, that's what I would do. In this day and age, is it so unreasonable to expect an office of medical professionals to know the laws and regulations in regards to service animals? And not only were many laws broken in this situation, but how could you ethically terminate a client / patient relationship only five days prior to her due date? You have left a family feeling alienated and put a mother and unborn baby at unnecessary risk, I hope people take a moment to read these reviews before trusting their health to such an unprofessional establishment.

How DARE this place kick out a patient 5 days before her due date! That really shows how low these people all. They don’t care at all about their patients and they have SO many other reviews of the same thing happening to many other women. DO NOT GO HERE! Read all the reviews first and make an informed decision. They break laws and they treat women like trash.

I’m completely floored with this practice. Recently an acquaintance of mine just weeks away from her due date was dropped by them because her husband who is a US Vet with epilepsy (caused by a traumatic brain injury in Afghanistan) accompanied his wife to her appointment. He brought his service dog, as he had previously done prior times. The practice was being reviewed that day by an outside agency. At this visit, having a Service dog there was suddenly an issue and things were said and done by the practice that is inappropriate, if not illegal, regarding service dogs. This service dog was perfectly behaved and the only issue was the ignorance that was shown regarding Service dog laws. I’m sure we will hear more as this needs to be investigated. Meanwhile find another practice until they obtain all the training they need to effectively care for ALL their patients.

I was skeptical to come here as I heard some less than great reviews, but I’m very glad I took the chance. I have felt very comfortable here since my first visit and the staff is very friendly. I came in for my first visit as I was having lots of pain on one side and knew I was only about 4 weeks pregnant. No other clinic would see me until 8 weeks and said I needed to see my primary care doctor so I was very thankful that they saw me and did blood work and an ultrasound two days later in order to ensure that it was not an ectopic pregnancy.
They have been very thorough with my visits and have answered all of my questions without seeming annoyed or rushed.response / report this review -

I don’t have any major complaints. I’m always in and out quickly. The waits are not long at all, almost as quick as I sit down I’m being called back. The doctors and nurses have been friendly and will answer any questions I’ve had. Drawing blood has also been quick and painless. They did forget to tell me once that they meant to give me a glucose test, which caused me to have to schedule an appointment for the following week and take off a half day, but no big deal.

I will start by saying that the young women at the front desk were absolutely wonderful! They were kind, personable and soft spoken. However, the rest of my experience with with Women's Healthcare Associates in Jacksonville was upsetting to say the least. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for two years. We have had multiple miscarriages in the past. A few days ago, we found out that we were expecting. I made an appointment with WHA immediately so that I could have my levels checked and have a plan moving forward. Unfortunately, a few hours before my appointment, I felt a lot of cramping accompanied by heavy bleeding. I still attended my appointment where they had me take another pregnancy test. It came back negative. Dr. Edward brought me to his office to talk. He asked me why I even came to this appointment if I knew I wasn't pregnant. I was quite taken back, handed him my hpt and showed him the positive results. He asked me when I took that test and I said "three days after my missed period." Dr. Edward told me that I was foolish for taking a test early and should have waited until I was two weeks late. I started to get emotional because this journey has been trying and he was being quite harsh with me under the circumstances. Dr. Edward handed me a box of tissues and told me that I wasn't ready to continue trying if crying is how I react when things don't go my way. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. WHA may be a great facility for women who have had successful pregnancies in the past, but it is not equipped and lacks the empathy to work with patients who have endured pregnancy/infant loss or struggle to get pregnant.

Do not go here!!!!! Worst service ever!!!!! I am on my second pregnancy went to see them for my 8 week appointment, doctor perscribed a nausea med told me if I had any problems call them and they will give me something new. Call them, get told no because what I am taking is the safest thing for me and my baby(even though its not working) call back cause a huge fuss finally get to talk to a manager, they prescribe something different after a lot of headache and tears. Then today i get a termination of patient and physical relationship. Which is fine I don't want to go back to people who make a pregnant woman cry and be upset because that must be great for my baby.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Staff is rude and the "doctors" are negligent. Deaths have occurred due to the negligence and lack of care. Get OB care ANYWHERE ELSE!

This place is horrible and should be shut down for many reasons. Look at all the reviews. Disrespectful staff that do not care and refuse to give me info on my own body after misinforming me and refusing to provide me care to save there own butts. No answers on anything and my life has been severely effected. They demand Repsect, but do not give it, they want trust, but give false info and last but least want cooperation and do not cooperate. How this place has not been shut down after all I just read blows my mind. I feel deeply sorry for all the woman they have negatively affected and then kicked to the curb with no answers. This is disgusting. I spoke to a lawyer and he told me to complain to the State Medical Board. You can find it on line. If this will help anyone. This must be stopped. This mistreatment. It's Unlawful and evil. If you know anyone that goes to this office please inform them on all the horrible stories of patients, one after another, time and time again. There are other great OBGYN Dr's in jacksonville, N.C. Woman's Healthcare associate's IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

Most everyone is very caring and empathic to what ever situation you may be being treated or seen for. I have had a couple situations to where a professional opinion wasn't said in an appropriate manner. Sometimes sharing there their own outlook on a sitaution. Honestly I feel there maybe more male Drs working in the practice, maybe it would level out the amount of hormones floating around. There was one situation where I was told to do something by a dr and when I related the message to the next nurse or Dr I'm not sure which I was actually questioned and was not believed in what I was saying. I understand everyone has there bad days and there can be lots of things going on at one time, but I feel like there actually could be less staff working so that there could be more attention paid so that all the needs of every step going through the mases of steps of what needs to be done is met without important messages from one Dr to another aren't misunderstood or the patient not trusted in what is being said.

They do not care about the patients and ignore serious complaints. They almost let my son die by ignoring my cholestasis. Not to mention they make crude jokes while checking your cervix and think it's hilarious. RUN away from this hell hole!!!

I am beyond appalled with this facility. The more reviews from other women I read the more I just want to cry at how poorly this facility is run. I was dropped as a patient and the only reason we can conclude as to why is that I advocated for my own care and was not afraid to express my concerns when I repeatedly brought up things that needed to be addressed. I simply addressed the fact that I felt that my wishes and concerns were being ignored. I cried speaking to the midwife at my last appointment because I was so afraid and upset that I did not feel even once that I was being listened to. These folks seem to drop any patient that they don't agree with or any patient who tries to advocate for their own care. I am in charge of my body. I believe that especially when pregnant a woman has every right to show concern for and advocate for what is done or isn't being done to HER OWN body. The staff here is extremely rude and unprofessional. The lady I spoke with on the phone today to try and determine why I was being terminated as a patient didn't even give me a chance to speak she only mocked my illness and made a remark about how she is former military as if that somehow made her comment alright. This place should not be allowed to practice medicine. I have never in my entire life seen such disrespectful and unprofessional behavior from a doctors office. Shameful! Ladies avoid this place like the plague. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to New Bern or Wilmington for better care. To the other reviewer who lost their child, my heart goes out to you.

First visit today. About an hour wait past my appointment time; but staff had warned me when I checked in. Everyone I encountered was friendly.
Dr. Neilson was friendly and gave me the time I needed. In fact I called my husband afterward and told her how much I liked her. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I went!response / report this review -

Been a nurse for 11 years, and in my educated opinion this place is a disaster waiting to happen. We had no other local options with our insurance than to go to this practice - unless I wanted to drive an hour to Wilmington but if you can go somewhere else Go!! My deadline with this practice are twofold: I've been a patient during my 3rd pregnancy and a concerned family member at all of my daughter's first pregnancy OB visits. The staff is flippant, dismissive and rude. 2 occasions there were issues with the front desk /scheduling staff, 1 incident with the nurse rooming me, and 2 incidents with different doctors. Holly Drake and Dr. Hoffman are great but you have no choice who you see - in the grand scheme of things I was initially okay with this (you have to sign a release when you start with the practice) as that was my OB experience with the military years ago with my first and second child. The problem is continuity of care. I'd be scared to navigate this practice without my medical knowledge from my nursing education and career and I can't imagine how the average person fairs as an advocate for their own care in this practice.

My husband and I both hated how rushed this place is. The doctor didn't seem to care at all and ignored most of what I told her at the first appointment is. Everyone else was nice but her. Then 4 weeks ago we went back and the experience was the complete opposite. Everyone was nice and quick to answer questions and cared about my health. I was on the fence of coming back after the first appointment but I left this appointment feeling at ease and like I could easily communicate with the employees.
When I had a question a couple days after I got home they immediately called me back and a nurse suggested what to do.response / report this review
