Sadly, a friend attended calling hours and funeral for my friends mother yesterday at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home. However, more disturbing was the fact that all the while on one side of the curtain is family and friends grieving and saying their goodbyes to their loved one. On the other side of the curtain, the funeral home continued with their remodeling construction. Hammering, sawing, banging, generators running, etc., very loud, very disturbing. Bad enough to have that going on during the calling hours, but then it continued during the funeral. A member of the family finally had to get up in the middle of the service and go tell them to knock it off. Seriously very disrespectful for the deceased and the loved ones. Seems as though Wm. R. Chase and Sons has lost sight of their purpose to provide a peaceful serene setting for loved ones to mourn and pay respect to the family.
