I applied to WSSU for the RN to BSN program. In the past I had attended a university that offered competency based education whose credits were rewarded on a pass/fail basis, meaning those credits will not transfer to a traditional university. WSSU required me to have an official transcript sent from that school anyway knowing very well they would not accept the credits. I very promptly had the transcript sent. I then got a very polite email from the admissions office that said consideration for my program was closed and I would have to try again in a future term. So admissions sent me on a wild goose chase for a transcript that was useless, at my expense, knowing that I wasn't going to have it back in time. I am sure they were very entertained that I went to the trouble and expense. I find the whole experience annoying and I find them very unprofessional.

I love WSSU!!! I received a quality education and the staff cares for the students. By the way, this is a Historically BLACK University, so yes African-American enrollment will be higher than at non HBCU's, but check your statistics before posting. You may find your comments incorrect; to the people giving negative feed back.

Came here to drop sister off at a camp, visited the dining hall, had to wait at least 50 minutes to even get food! The moment I got there, it was obvious to me that all of the cafeteria workers were abused as they were a child. As I was almost at the front of the line to get my food, a child directly in front of me passed out. It was at this moment when I realized the workers haven't even gotten a proper education, even though they work at a college.

My experience here can not be put into words. I have gained so many cultural experiences and networking opportunities. Along with that I have gained friendships and relationships that I know ill last a lifetime. Winston may have there downfalls, but what school doesn't, there is no such thing as a perfect school, but WSSU is perfect for me. Don't listen to the negative reviews and base your decision off of that, come and visit to get a feel for yourself. We have a lot of new, staff, programs, and even a new chancellor. We are definitely on the come up!!!
