This was a beautiful place so even if you see elk from far away like we did, it was still memorable to be there.
Great place to look at the Elk. As a rule best viewing is in the morning and in the evening. Also the more people around, the more noise, the less likely you are to see Elk. If the conditions are right you may see them here.
Saw the elk. They were far away but it still was exciting to see them.
Beautiful spot to watch elk in early fall. Peak is end of September , but late day is best. Early morning good, too. See bulls and cows, occasional eagle, lots of hawks and vultures, a few deer. Being binoculars, and camera with telephoto.
Great spot to see elk. Bring binoculars or spotting scope. In September, it is crowded and parking can be difficult.
We watched as the cow elk emerged from a wooded to be rounded up by a massive bull elk.
Nice area for elk & deer viewing. Plus they have WiFi there. Thanks to the PA Game Com.
Beautiful scenery! Places to stay and eat..its a nice little place to check out..
Get up early and get outdoors just after sun rise .Love the area, and even saw a cow and her yearling on the road just past the visitors center an the way to this area. At the viewing area listed, we saw several elk at the bottom of the viewing area road on Dewey road. A smaller bull, aka spike, several cows and a couple yearlings. Fun area. Very scenic.
A good place to see elk and The Visitor Center shows a short movie you can buy T-shirts ball caps accessories
They have WiFi and elk. What more can you desire?
This is a great place to see the Pennsylvania Elk Herd. Majestic creatures in a beautiful environment. It's a nice trip and an educational experience. Don't forget, though -- the elk are wild animals.
Love this place. Go Everytime I go to visit my daughter in State College. 4 for 4 on seeing lots of elk.
Great place to see the elk. We happened to see a group of around 35 elk at 3:30 pm in November. Little congested with ATV traffic but it had plenty of parking and great views. Right off the road so it's very easy to spot. And on the way to plenty of other viewing areas. The free wi-if in the middle of the forest is a really nice touch. Worth your time to stop.
