Its been years since I patronized Wildwood, unfortunately. Yes they are nice people and somewhat helpful. The store has an incredible selection. I made the drive from Cleveland several times and finally purchased a guitar. I learned that trying a guitar in store and living with one at home can be two very different experiences. After I had my guitar at home I found it to be too large for the amount of playing I was doing and just could not get comfortable with it. Additionally it was causing shoulder pain due to the large lower bout on the instrument. When I contacted the store with my concerns there was very little response other than telling me to try different positions which I had already done. When I asked if I could return to the store and exchange my instrument for something better suited to me I was denied that. So the 'once you walk out the door with a guitar , it's yours no matter the situation' policy did not work for me. So I had to sell the guitar at a significant loss, on line, There have been many situations since then when I wished I could return and purchase another guitar but could not bring myself to do it due to this restrictive policy. I understand concerns about how a guitar is treated once it leaves the store. So under certain circumstances, if the guitar is in perfect condition why not help please the customer? A real shame.

By far the best place to go for an acoustic guitar, and the owners actually care about you and what instrument you take home I would give 10 stars if I could! Wildwood is awesome, I just wish they were closer to Pittsburgh

I've purchased three guitars from them and have been visiting this shop for nearly twenty years. Never once have I been pressured to buy or try any particular instrument, They're not that kind of people! They're great, authentic, knowledgeable people who know what they have in shop and can tell you why they chose these instruments. They approach their customers as musicians and friends, not as potential sales. If they still carried mandolins I wouldn't have to purchase from anyone else ever again. Don't miss these guys, you'll never find another shop like this.

Don and Marty have become like members of the family who graciously enable my Guitar Acquisition Syndrome. Absolutely no pressure as I've been there numerous times to spend the afternoon playing high end guitars with no plans to buy one. Each of them are very well versed in the current and historical information about guitars and willing to have a civil and engaging conversation if you're interested. If you just want to explore some great guitars while you are trying to decide on a purchase and don't wish to be bothered in the process-this is the place for you. These humble people are a real treasure and I am blessed to have have purchased two Taylors from them so far. Tomorrow a friend and I are looking at the wide array of Larrivee's and Martins and will bring home at least one! Take some time to get to know these amazing people and their equally stunning collection of instruments.
