This is actually Izaak Walton League of America South Bend chapter
This is now a private park. It's only written on the entrance. It's not written on the South Bend parks page.
I used to go shooting my bow there. Did Izaak Walton Park close?
Do a short walk
Nice place
Apparently this is a private park, whatever the heck that is. It might be okay, but if you're not a member, it's not for you. Too bad, as it seems a nice enough place.
I was there for a wedding. I believe it is a private place, the issac Walton league. Small strram, trails, fire pits, good selection of portopotty, a lodge, beautiful trees, archery range. Amazing how secluded it was so close to the main road. Honestly considering a yearly membership.
When I lived there, from 1969 to 1973, this was the Izaak Walton League property. My dad was the caretaker there and my backyard was 122 acres of so much goodness for a kid. I was never indoors. Always exploring the woods, ponds, Judy Creek and the St Joe river with my dog Simon. I just ran across this as I was checking out the route of the old Lincoln Highway.
This property was fantastic. I hope I get back there someday soon.
