West Mountain was not open yet. We just sat in the car watching them make the snow and watching the guys grooming the snow. Cool!
Love this place been skiing here ever since I was young
Food = 5 stars ( may be a little pricey but worth it)
Trails = 4 stars (needs more terrain parks (even though they did great job last year with one)
Conditions = 2 (Very icy from snowblowers that are almost constantly going. Random ice patches that show up out of no where.
There are tons of glades especially since they put in the mtb Park over the summer
Great Ski Resort located in Queensbury. Went there for their Harvest Festival and it was great. Can't wait to try it out in the Winter.
Not giant but a great place to ski! I love the fact that you can purchase a 4h pass. Some days they have deals of 4h ticket & lunch. Never had a bad day at West. They offer tubing too
Awesome local mountain to anyone in the saratoga region... Offers mountain biking in the winter as well as skiing!
Great first time at West. Challenging natural terrain. Lots of potential. Will be back soon.
Great local ski hill with night skiing. Well-stocked bar.
Like skiing in the 80's... in a good way. Sure the lifts are all old, and there's very limited vertical... but that didn't stop our family from having a fabulous day skiing. I have two small kids learning to ski, and we didn't have to worry about losing them on the mountain. Some times you just want to slow down, escape the rat race, and go someplace small like this.
Went tubing! Warmer weather, and was crowded! We still had a lot of fun
This is always an enjoyable experience. Usually go up for skiing - This trip went for snow tubing and had a great time.
They have a great area for snow tubing. Multiple lanes and 2 hills. We had a great time. Prices were reasonable.
I want this place to succeed, but it is poorly run by an obnoxious hothead who has a long history of failed endeavors. The race program produces no one without the last name Montgomery, the terrain is just OK, and the marginal latitude leaves this place more often muddy than snowy.
Yes, it's fine for your kid's high school ski club, but beyond that, head north if you're any kind of a real ski or board enthusiast. Or if you have young kids, go to Willard. Better beginner programs, much cheaper and much better management.
Snow tubing was fun, but only half the tube runs were open, and only one rope tow was open, which made it slow and had long wait lines. Maybe we should have called ahead to find out things before choosing this hill over the others in the area. The tavern/dining area was nice and spacious with a great view of the ski hill.
