Absolutely sublime food and perfect service. This is a beautiful place for a beautiful meal!
An appetizer plus the pasta bolognese (which comes with a salad) turned out to be a lot more food than expected. They have a great beer list for those who prefer it over the wine.response / report this review -

Great meal, scallops and salmon were perfectly prepared. Loved being able to go into wine cellar and pick our bottle. Excellent service, Niki was great.

We love coming here with family and friends when we are in town. The ambiance is incredible and I have never had a bad meal here. There is a quaint bar and they will make anything you ask for. They have a large selection for such a small room. My husband and I always stop here every time we are in town.

Lovely traditionalcountry chic decor. French fusion cuisine and attentive service. Reservations are a must and so is an apperitif at their Simon Kent Pub! Highly recommend.

This is a first class operation. The food was beyond reproach. Every course, from the cheese plate to the lemon tahini ice cream, was out of this world. We had the crab cakes and Bolognese, both were outstanding. The wine cellar is small but diverse and we picked the perfect Pinot Grigio to complement the meal. Service is just stellaralways attentive, never intrusive. We were treated like treasured guests from start to finish. The meal wasn't all that expensive either, given the wine, appetizer and desserts.
This little gem earned every bit of these 5 stars, they are worth the time and travel to find.

Great food, good service, but the management is just rude. John, on management tonight, was inexcusable. He ruined what would have been a great evening. Their policy to not accommodate customers simple requests was quite bizarre. Later he came to the table and acted like nothing happened, nothing was wrong and offered no apology. Our party of 8 could not be seated at their one large table so he sat us "near" each other with an empty table between us and stated that it is his policy to not put the tables together or seat us adjacent. His excuse was to keep the noise down and he said he did not want us talking across to each other! It is not necessarily a quiet restaurant and we would not have added extra noise, we are not rowdy. The wait staff was amazing but John definitely lost any repeat customers. But I have a feeling he doesn't care.

The Gristmill is an icon in the area. The food and staff are top notch and deliver the best experience you can have for any dining experience. Make sure to visit them if you're ever in the area.

We came Thanksgiving evening for their special menu and everything was superb. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and the prices seemed fair considering the generous portion sizes and quality. Definitely a unique setting and a great date spot!
