Not to be confused with Ponce's "Fountain of Youth," Watermelon Spring is by far the best spring on the Santa Fe river if you're fortunate enough to catch it when the water level is just right. It's a very exclusive spring, and legend has it that watermelons rise from its depths to rehydrate and nourish those certain campers who so believe in its extraordinary powers. A must visit when trekking down the Santa Fe.
