I've been in here 4 times, and every time it is the most basic, barely noticeable job. The last time i went in for a Balayage with Brianna, and it was not Balayage. it looked like I just had an outgrowth of roots and like I needed to get my hair done after 2 weeks of having it done. It was $350. .three hundred and fifty dollars. I could have done a better job myself. I called to have her fix it and their response was "Brianna thought she did a wonderful job actually, so if you'd like to get your hair fixed you'll have to pay for it" ----i have been to salon liquid and studio b salon since and told them my experience. The ongoing theme salons have to say about voodoo is MANY clients USED to go to voodoo and never go back. It is overpriced for a hair style that is not over the top or even near worth what they are charging. They stay in business from first time customers.
Love this place!! Always happy when i get my hair cut there by Frank. Love the environment of Voodoo and the customer service is over the top. I couldn't ask for a better place to go to get my hair cut. I recommend this place over any-other in town. Thanks for the cut guys you're awesome!!!
Haven't had our first appointment yet. However I booked my appointment with Addison and she was great answering my many questions and she hooked us up with a stylist. Exciting for our first appointment and to see how things will turn out
I saw Hannah for my first visit. I had her cover some roots and grays, and the color came out great. I also got a wash and blowout/style from Christina. Two thumbs up!
Preface: I've been going to chain-barbers for years. You make an appointment 1-2 weeks in advance, but it's worth it. 30-60 minutes of glorious hair one on one time. Hannah? knew just what to do with my normally befuddlingly curly hair.
Over-priced and not at all impressed. Had better haircuts from Super Cuts.
My husband and I both got awesome haircuts for reasonable prices. The place is funky and clean, and rivals any of the salons I've been to when I was living in NYC. Be sure to get the nitro cold brew or kombucha on tap.
Voodoo is absolutely the it place to get your hair done in Boulder. I have been going here since I moved here a few years ago and the stylists really know what they are doing. Trey is the best stylist I've had and I have stuck with him. He keeps up on all the current color/cut techniques and he will help you craft something that looks great on you. I've been rocking short hair and it's never looked as good as when Trey cuts it. A bonus- the salon itself has a great atmosphere and they have local art for sale on the walls. I save my money and go here for a great experience-it's totally worth it!
I have gone here twice and the service didn't meet my expectations.
I made an appointment somewhat late at night and had to wait 20 minutes after my appointment even though I arrived 10 minutes early. The waiting room was nice but the wait was just miles too long.
I sat down and said I wanted more texture, that my hair grows fast and I didn't want to have to come back soon, and to cut off the back as much as possible since the back grows the fastest.
The person cutting my hair only heard the words "layer" and somehow thought I wanted a trim. They actually did less than a trim and I had to reiterate what I had said before. Since this was already a late appointment that they took to long to start, they ended up rushing the rest of my haircut. It didn't look too bad but it was choppy, uneven, and not what I asked for at all. Now I am frustrated that my hair in the back has never been this much longer than the front. They actually cut the back less than the front and since then has been a pain to deal with.
I think in the future I will just go somewhere cheaper where I don't have to wait 30 minutes to get a rushed haircut twice in one session.
If you're looking for professional styling, this is the place to go. If you want a simple haircut and will pay a premium for it to look good, try somewhere else.
I made an appointment with Trey after reading some great reviews online and he did not disappoint! First I went to him for a cut typically when I've gotten bangs cut in the past, I was thinking about growing them out before I even left the salon. Not this time, Trey cut them perfectly and I've gotten so many compliments. Now I've gone back for color and he's also killed it on that. I gave him a very general idea of what I like and what I don't like and he translated it perfectly. If you want your hair to look better than it ever has, go see Trey!
Hands down truly an amazing experience all round. The girl at the front desk was extremely nice and matched me perfectly with my new stylist Trey, whom recommended a keratin and a lighter shade of brown. Trey was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the services I received. Highly recommend him and the salon !!!
I've been seeing Kristin for several years now, and she does beautiful work, both with color and cuts. She's also a pleasure to hang out with, really listens, and is flexible and creative. Kristin has many years of experience and it shows. I highly recommend her.
I've been going to Voodoo for the last 3 years, and Trey has worked magic on my hair every time! His color skills are always fabulous, even when I've wanted over-the-top bright colors. He always figures out the right combination of colors to layer in, creating vibrant looks that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. I'm always getting compliments on my hair, and have to tell them to go see Trey!
It's a great place! People here know what they're doing. I went in wanting to feel differently about myself and they did it for me. I've never liked my hair the way it was and Rigpa showed me how amazing it can be. I seriously can't say enough good things about Voodoo, the staff is very welcoming and they adhere to every whim of yours. To me it was a confidence inducing, life altering experience.
I've been going to Voodoo for over 4 years and highly recommend them!
I've used several stylist over the years at Voodoo for Men's cuts, as some have moved, but I've stayed loyal to Voodoo for a few reasons, their highly trained staff ensures a level of quality, stand out customer service, and the fact that this place is fun, the owners work here and put their soul into the business. I currently see Trey, he is great at what he does!
When I moved to Boulder many years ago I searched out a new salon, after several bad experiences and many bad "doos" I might add, I reached out by email to Voodoo explaining my dilemma of wanting a cut that is more than just a quick buzz. Well I was surprised at the detailed and caring response I got from the owner. There are only a few times when customer service exceeds my expectations, this was one of those moments. I never looked back and have had great experiences every visit in. Hope this review helps those searching for the right salon. Cheers!
