Good place for food. Love their beef stroganoff the most. Everything else I’ve tried is also fantastic. Staff are efficient and friendly.
OK food and setting. The bar area gave off a lounge like feel, with little natural light, a fish tank behind the bar, plenty of dark wood and music for the baby boomer crowd.
Service was a bit impersonal - I didn't get the daily specials
The menu features a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers and entrées.
My under-seasoned tater tots came hot and crunchy. My dry Reuben sandwich was a disappointment. The slaw had a strong vinegar taste and the generously portioned pastrami didn't throw off much flavor.
Never eaten here, so this review does not reflect food or servers. I have only ever sat at the bar and drank. I have mostly come with people, but also have gone alone a few times. If you are with your friends the place is fine, if you are alone you are probably not going to end up meeting anyone. Everyone seems into their own "scene". So atmosphere is kind of dull, because I have gone to plenty of bars alone and ended up meeting people and having a great time.
As far as the beer goes, that is fairly good. Prices are also reasonable, especially if you go at the right time. Bar service varies, I have had some bartenders somewhat ignore me for longer than I cared for, and I have had good service, too. So beer gets a 4 and bar service a 3. Unfortunately, the dull atmosphere and the unfriendly or "so into themselves" patrons are kind of a drain, so overall I have to go with only a 3.
Good food, came quick and accurate. Great atmosphere. Fun for adults and families. Their home brews were excellent. Would definitely return!
Awesome beer and I loved the fish tacos! I live in the Chicago area with lots of options and microbreweries, but this is definitely my favorite. Love the atmosphere, service, food and the beer. 5 stars, definitely!! You must visit this place if you're going anywhere near the Madison area.
Started with the curds, they came out quick, crispy and delicious. My table had fish tacos, and a chicken wrap, both excellent. The ice cream drinks were excellent. Service was friendly and professional. Can't go wrong here folks!
Follow up from Madison Burger Week 2017
The good, the bad, and the ugly. That's how I felt after leaving here last night. I went here with a friend to split the burger week special burger. We started with fried pickles and pork belly. The shining star of the night was definitely the pork belly, deep fried crispy on the outside and tender and juicy in the inside, covered with a very tasty glaze and sauces decorating the plate. Very appealing to the eye and the stomach. Then it went down hill the breading on the Pickle Spears was falling off. So much in fact that they pulled 2 off the plate and replaced shortly after with 2 over-battered ones. Then the dinner burger came a few minutes after the starters arrived. Timing at this place wasn't on par yesterday. The special burger, well it's special alright. It starts with a grilled marble rye muenstr cheese, topped with 2 1/4 lb beef patties, topped with cheese, and lettuce, tomato, special sauce, the another grilled Swiss on marble rye, followed with twin fried pickles Spears, and 2 deep fried burger balls covered in cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was definitely not good, it was gritty, and I bet they used a packaged shredded cheese instead of from a block and shredding themselves. The burger overall was a mess of flavors that didn't work well. Probably not coming back here.
So for starters, we ordered the fried cheese curds. Not bad, they were hot and what we were expecting. We ordered the fried pickles next. They came out luke warm, and still frozen in the middle. We sent them back, and the wait staff was accommodating, and the advised us that they would be removed from our bill. My wife ordered a salad, and it was as expected. My dad ordered a wrap, it came out hot which was good, but the potato tots were also cold. Again, it was. Tonight to the attention of the staff, and again they accommodated and brought him out a hot fresh order. My mother had a chicken sandwich which was good. Finally, I ordered a medium rare burger and curly fry potatoes. The fries were hot and good, but the burger was cooked to death, and was STILL cold in the middle. Yet again, this was brought to the staff's attention and they removed it from our bill. I ate half the burger because I was pretty hungry, and was tired of complaining. We tried. THEY tried, but we will not be coming back.
Very good food and good beer. Broccoli and Cheese soup. Meatloaf with Texas Toast and Mashed Potatoes.
Great atmosphere. Large selection of microbrew. Must try the pork belly bites. You won't be disappointed.
Good food and service. I ordered Chicago style beef. The taste was great but the beef was very thick, not thinly sliced like an authentic Chicago style beef.
Great suggestion by a local Verona couple. The beef stroganoff and their burgers are quite delicious! I like that it has a "Cheers" kind of vibe. Really hard to find this kind of place back in California.
There was a bridal shower and a huge birthday party going on in the back rooms on a cold Wisconsin weeknight.
A good spot to hangout or chill before heading out for the night with good friends.
