  Selection is decent, especially of local beer. But the staff is horrible. I've never seen people less interested in customers. They're no help with suggestions or recommendations and they barely even acknowledge you when you pay; instead they just continue to chat among themselves. We have family in Lafayette and visit a few times a year. The unpleasant experience at the Village Bottle Shoppe never fails (at least they're consistent). In fact, the lousy service you are guaranteed to get here is longstanding running joke in our family. We went through it again last night: the young lady who rang me up didn't even say hello but just kept right on chatting with her co-workers. No one even said thank you after I paid. That's a typical encounter at this unwelcoming store.

  I'm just a beer guy so haven't bought wine or spirits here. Craft beer selection is pretty good but a bit spendy. Nice selection of bombers and Indiana brews.

  A good place to stop at when looking for a special bottle of Irish or Scottish whisky. Great selection, reasonable prices, and completely blows the competition away with their stock on hand!
