Much much better than before, clearly the new owners care. Looks good all around. Still a bit of an attitude at the front desk but much better.
Every wonderful and friendly staff, they make me feel safe and welcomed. Beautiful site, especially with the grass and trees and it is kept very nice. The pool and tv room are luxurious, and the laundry room is a nice plus. I love it here.
On facilites alone, I would say that this campground is fine, but pricey. Everything seems maintained adequately & the RV spots are paved and level. It is for the service and ridiculous rules that I am giving this Resort such a low rating. First, when we arrived, we paid over $70 a night, but because we have pets there is an additional fee (although there are no facilities for pets other than a couple of dog bag stations), we ended up paying over $80/night. Then they handed us some lovely wristbands which we were expected to wear for our entire stay, weird, but okay. The next issue we came across was that we wanted to stay an additional night & were originally told that we could for the same rate as our current nights. We went to pay for it & then were told that we couldn't just stay one more night because it was a Friday & we would have to stay 2 additional nights. Again, okay, but when we said yes to that then they informed us that those two nights were actually at $117/ night because it was the weekend before Halloween. For the campground that seemed outrageous, so we chose not to stay. Next, we had some friends visiting us at our campsite for dinner one evening and we were told that each visitor would cost us $10 even if they were just coming for 10 minutes. I wasn't asking to have them swim or use the amenities, just sit at the concrete pad that I have already paid over $80 a night for. Just ridiculous.!!! To top off the stay, they have a laundry room with coin operated machines, but don't have a coin machine & are not able to make change for you. All in all, I'm pretty annoyed with paying a high price for poor service.
My wife and I spent two nights at the Ventura Beach RV Resort in our 30 foot motorhome.
The resort is well maintained and the rv sites are nice.
They have a small mini market that carries a lot of goodies that you may need.
Both my wife and I had lived in Ventura in the 70's and it was nice to walk to the beach and to the mission.
I would give the resort five stars, if it wasn't for the road noise from Hwy 101.
Cal Trans should build a sound wall along that section of the highway.
We were visiting my wife's sister and brother-in-law, who were staying at the resort. They liked the very spacious trailer space, the grass and trees, and the amenities at the common area. We appreciated the security and assistance provided by the resort and had a great time visiting and having dinner with our family members.
We had a wonderful time here at this resort. The people were great and the weather was for the most part fabulous. We plan to return again next summer if the management staff remains the same. Having Didi running the office made the office staff much more pleasant than in previous years. Also think that having Terry as facilities manager was a great move. He is a hard worker who never seems to rest but also keeps the staff doing what needs to be done. All in all the place was greatly improved from previous years.
I would've given it 5 🌟 if only they could do something about the fwy noise. It does affect the overall experience of this otherwise great camping park. It has everything going for it- staff, amenities, proximity to the beach and Old Downtown Ventura. We had a great time!
I see a lot of complaints about all the rules but doesn't bother me. Just follow them and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy your stay as much as I always do. As far as the price.. ya it's a little steep but you pay for what you get. Safe place and kids love it here. I'll keep coming back.
Great place to park your rv. Call for avaliable spots. Great security!!! Did not realize how serious they are about keeping things in tip top shape. WOW and they are very friendly. MUST GO BACK. my little havanese loved the safe walks.
Clean, comfortable, and close to restaurants, shops, and beach. No need to drive anywhere to have a relaxing time. Very reasonable. My dog enjoyed his stay too. A place we will return to when we need a weekend getaway from the LA area.
There are 2 complaints 1 cue sticks have no tips. Second sitting quietly around the fire about 10:30 the sprinklers soaked us !!!. Expected watering but would have liked knowing it was going to happen. LOL We screamed then laughed and went inside. All else has been great friendly staff helpful in all ways. Noise of course , there is freeway I saw it on the web site. Only lace I have been that they actually help you back into your site. Will return. Maybe the trick is to come in the off season. People are in better moods.
Was a nice campground. Lots and lots of kids witch was great for my two kids. Lots of things to do for the family. Yes it's next to a freeway but didn't really bug me any. The one thing I wasn't a big fan was wearing bands the entire time. I sure they get people over from the beach trying to sneak in but has to be a better way. They had a cool truck that was a shuttle and said free rides to town with a band. That would have been cool if it was running while we were there. But all and all nice campground and I'm sure we will be back.
