  Correction* ZERO, 0 stars
  -Electric bill $315 with no explanation on why or how.
  -Rude staff in the leasing office
  -apartments are not as nice as the ones in the picture, paint all over door hinges, paint on the walls crack and falls off
  -windows have a very bad draft that they will not fix
  -if you move out, or change apartments they charge you cleaning fees ($150 for bathroom, $200 for the kitchen) even though they don't clean them. (We moved apartments got charged for them cleaning our old apartment but the new one was discussing,dirt in the window sills, bathroom had dirt in the tub)
  -washers and dryers are small, barely work and inorder for you to get your money back that it ate, you have to call the 1800 on them, the office doesn't care. Plus the laundry room is disguisting, never clean.
  -floors are very thin, you can hear everything your upstairs neighbors do of all hours of the night.
  -bug infested. Ants everywhere, thousand leggers share the apartment with you. We had to have an exterminator come out multiple times to clear our apartment multiple times (thanks to our poor windows)
  -trash is all over the parking lot. Windy days you'll have trash outside your door.
  -ceiling leaks Everytime our upstairs neighbor turn their water on
  - maintenance guys never give you time to answer the door. They will knock and walk right in (they have a set of keys to the apartments) so always have a decent amount of clothes on.
  -you'll need to know 6months in advance for your living arrangements once your lease is up or the will Auto renew. Once they Auto renew they send you a new lease agreement and 9/10 the rent price will go up without a warning.

  Short version: Units are mediocre-decent but terrible for the price they charge, which will be higher than you will be told due to their love of fees. Facilities are okay but small and cramped at peak hours. Bus/bike distance to campus but close to Walmart (if you're without a car). Flat rate electric is nice. Area looks nice but the whole State College area is pretty, other options will be equivalently scenic.
  
  The price you see is not the price you pay. A one-bedroom may advertise as $800 (though they may have already raised that price again) but the variety of fees they levy can jack up your monthly rent as much as a few hundred dollars. (Another review mentioned they are pet friendly and they certainly are, for an additional monthly fee.) Do note that in addition to your exorbitant rent, you will be charged about $200 per person prior to move-in for an activity pass for access to facilities (small pool, gym with only one or two of each equipment--good luck at peak hours, laundry, etc.). When they plan to upgrade their units they may try to charge the tenants (e.g. all units receive new ovens, charge tenants for new oven/replacement costs regardless of need or status).
  
  Management staff can be notoriously difficult to work with. Don't be surprised if you have to redo paperwork or never receive a signed benefit. Some of the staff are lovely, some have bad attitudes and make lives difficult. You'll likely only have one or two items go overtly wrong with management but that's excessive in this line of work.
  
  You'll save money and sanity by going elsewhere, even if they're advertised as the exact same rates. Two stars instead of one due chiefly to the included flat rate utilities.

  I rented a studio here for a year. Rent is affordable & allows pets. I really love the location, prefect for walking your dog. another plus, the walls must be thick because i NEVER hear anyone. The apartment is def no updated or fancy, but the other features make up for that (IMO). I would recommend.

  Good place to live. Have gym, pool and very prompt to the emergency calls. Have been living here for 2 years and this is the cheapest in the town with all those facilities.

  wrost management. hot water does not come. electricity bill is like 300 bugs. Please save yourself a big trouble by not leasing this place. You can get a much better placebin round about same price.

  Lived here in a studio for several years. Nothing big to complain about or commend. Do make sure you read up on how not to auto-renew your lease, though. I missed the deadline and had to rent it myself with some extra fees, but it worked out.
  
  The staff is pretty normal, a few are really nice. (Some office staff once called maintenance when they saw me changing at tire in the snow and couldn't get it off with me--the maintenance guys switched it *and* patched it for free on the spot.)
  
  I never used much besides the fitness center and laundry, both serviceable though laundry has little problems on and off. Other little stuff: the smoke detectors go off easily, which might be more important if you do smokey cooking or have a baby it'd wake up (you can hear nearby alarms and some other loud sounds, but it's not too bad). A maintenance guy once accidentally flooded my kitchen trying to unclog a neighbor's drain, but it dried out okay. Nothing too scary in terms of bugs, though I kept Raid around because I'm like that.
  
  Don't let the negative reviews scare you too much. I guess bad stuff happens sometimes, but with so many people going through, the people who're upset are a lot more likely to review. No one I knew had any big problems, and the atmosphere among tenants is positive enough.

  Its a beautiful location and I received a well maintained unit. However, like most people have mentioned, the management is just painful to deal with. None of their policies are meant to help the renters and the staff just carries an unhelpful face all the time. I shifted to another apartment, after living in Vairo for a year, and the management is extremely caring and helpful here. The rent at Vairo is slightly on the higher side and the laundry room and mailboxes are very inconveniently located. Apart from that their parking policy is bad. No guest parking. I would never recommend anyone to opt for this place.
