Gene and his guide Art were excellent. My Father in Law and I fished their private waters and had excellent opportunity to land a multitude of rainbow trout of various size including a couple over 20" and 5 lbs weight, and a brook trout. There are German Brown Trout to be had, but I didn't get any.
There are several good spots that are readily available to fish and they provided the gear. I had fly fished on my own a handful of times having self taught myself and with their help and a few pointers improved my technique . My Father in Law had never fly fished and he was very happy with this experience and now shares my interest in the sport. There really isn't enough time to learn fly tying but we did discuss strategies for how to smartly rig your flies for maximum effect and good floatants to use.response / report this review -

Like Manuel said in his 11/2 review, "Rude, disrespectful, and mean" pretty much sum up Gene. Both me and my partner were shocked at his attitude. Also you only share one rod so I person fishes at a time and he doesn't discuss anything useful like what gear to buy or even how to tie a fly. So forget any useful teaching techniques or advice. It was my only fly fishing time but he paled in comparison to any other guided fishing trips I've taken. Stay far away.

Awful experience in just trying to book the trip. Rude, disrespectful, and mean, here are some quotes from the owner:
"What point that you dont have a clue! I am so happy I did not have to fish someone like you!"
"what do you suggest I could have done differently, other than pull a trip out of thin air for you ? Why did you wait so long to book?"
