I have experience visiting this theater hundreds of times both as a customer and as a former employee.

Let me tell you right now that concession items are pricey because that's how theaters make money. Half of the people commenting seem to not understand that this is the way it is at MOST theaters because they do not make much profit from the ticket sales alone (Hollywood runs a practical racket on these). Prices for food and drinks will be high if you go to sun plaza or destin commons instead. I've lived in several different countries so far and this rule seems to hold true even on an international level. Eat before or after the movie if you aren't willing to pay three or four times the value of items you could get elsewhere. Posting low reviews for that alone doesn't give other people a good understanding about whether or not this is a good theater.

Based on how the theater operates though, I would have to give Santa Rosa 10 a good rating. Staff have always been considerate and professional. Bathrooms and theaters are cleaned regularly and to a very high standard. The general manager can be a hardass about this but he runs a tight shift and recognizes hard work. Sometimes staff scheduling can be a bit off which leads to understaffing when a big movie opens. This leads to lines usually, but never delays in my experience. The occasional video or audio glitch happens every so often and people up in the projection room fix it, rewind the video and get things rolling again without much issue.

Honestly the only thing about this place that leads to a poor experience sometimes (rarely) are other customers. It might have something to do with the near-dilapidated mall right next door but the youth who frequent this place (often on friday nights) can be insufferable sometimes. I try to avoid going on the nights of big releases or PG-13 horror movies. If you do that or just go to matinees or something then you will never have a bad time.

Went to see Pacific rim 2. Picture was a bit fuzzy. Se sat in the dead center of the theater. Surround sound and bass was not real obvious. Popcorn was good though.

The general manager seems to be rude and abrasive to most of the employees who do a pretty decent job, even with unruly customers. Bathrooms are probably the best quality of the theatre.
If you want anything during a movie you have to sneak it in unless you want to easily drop nearly half your paycheck on refreshments. This city would be better off without these overpriced theatres that seem to focus on capitalizing off the customers as much as possible while lacking on the experience.

The popcorn is very overpriced especially compared to its quality. If I want to be ripped off I might as well drive to the Destin Commons and at least enjoy the experience with nice seating and even better theatres.

It starts with $5.75 for a small soda.

Then NO HEAT in the theatre. NONE. It was so cold you could actually see your breath. No kidding.

We complained three separate times and they could care less.

The couple in front of us finally got passes to come back after making a fuss. We just left. If you care so little about your customers, then why would we.

I promise you will loose more by the postings and word of mouth!

No heat? Then tell someone before they go inside!

The theater was MUCH cleaner this time than it was the last time we went about a month ago. No stadium seating but theater was almost empty so we basically had any seats we wanted. Staff and management were much friendlier. The snack bar area was clean and although there was a huge line the workers kept things moving and were cheerful. We will definitely visit again.

Stupidest Cashier in the World and her manager was equally as Stupid.
The cashier attempted to charge me $28 for a single ticket to an afternoon feature today. She saw nothing wrong with that price and neither did her Manager. The actual price was $12 but it took me 15 minutes to get them to give me the correct price. Both of them were stupid on so many levels I get triggered just thinking about it.

I think the theater needs to get stadium seating. As others have stated, having your view partially obscured is common. Also, the popcorn doesn't taste fresh, even when it IS fresh. It's not light and fluffy, but smaller and tough. You gotta smother it in "butter" to try to ignore it. Given that movie theater popcorn is the most expensive on the planet, it should be gourmet quality every time. Another issue is the sound / video. The last three or four times I went, I bit the bullet for my fellow movie goers and went out to reveal audio / focus issues to the staff, missing part of the first scene in each. I won't take a third star away for concession prices, because that's where the theater makes money. The box office sales go to the film maker. I haven't had any issues with management or staff. To summarize, I'm not sure how much the staff on hand can help with the issues I've presented, except maybe making sure to check each screen during previews to see if surround sound is engaged and projectors are focused. Having been in theater mgmt and a projectionist, that was standard procedure at every start time.

Fort Walton Beach should get a new movie theater This place has old fashioned seating and compares to dollar theaters in bigger cities. If someone sits in front of you their head will block the screen. Another observation is that the movie theater is not strict enough with the movie goers. Every movie that I go to, people are using their cell phones and talking aloud during the movie. If you go to AMC in Destin, this does not happen. I do like the Free Regal Rewards, which is why I gave it two stars.

It's fine to just watch a movie and not have many amenities. Seats are meh. Sound is meh.

The first thing you notoce when you walk in is the strong urine smell, it is over whelming. Took forever to buy our tickets when my wife and I final got someone at the booth our movie had already started. Then standing at the concession waiting once again another 15 minutes waiting on the manager to final come over to assist us, then for discount for having a our app wouldn't work on their end so I could not collect my points to earn rewards. Once in movie the sound kept going out finally after less then 15 minutes of sound coming and going we decided to ask for a refund but manager refused to give us our refund or even sit us in another movie with sound, so we finally got annoyed of hearing excuse we just gave up and left.
