Very good food, minimal wait (Saturday afternoon on a football day at Ford field), good service, and a good beer selection. Been there a few times food and service has been consistent.
We arrived at 2:45pm on a Saturday for a private party in the Michigan room. Love the space, large windows, easy access to the restroom. Plenty of space for our group of 40. Speakers surround the room. The manager met us promptly and took our drink orders. Our event was booked for 3pm - 7pm. The entire restaurant was relatively empty when we arrived so the staff was very attentive took all our drink and meal orders and we received everything pretty quickly. The food was amazing!!!! I spoke to everyone in our group no complaints other than a couple drink orders were forgotten. The music was too loud so we asked them to lower it and they did. Then around 5:15pm or so I noticed the music had been turned up really loud and that the wait staff were scarcely seen. Some of us wanted desert, boxes & ecetra. I asked someone to lower the music again eventually they did, I noticed it was getting really busy in the other section of the restaurant. It dawned on me that they were short on staff so I asked and it was confirmed. It would have been nice if they told us. I also got the impression they were trying to drive us out before 7pm by turning the music up. I heard they had another group booked for 7pm we left about 6:15pm. After everything was said and done a little communication can go a long way, let your patrons know what your up against you'd be surprised at how they may respond. They Q-line runs right near the restaurant, they have a parking lot. I was told parking was free for us because of the time we booked our event. We were charged for the use of the room. Yes I will definitely return, but definitely not at a peak time.
I really like Union Street. The food and ambiance are great. It's only downfall is that all the wood makes creates acoustics that make it often, when busy, unbearably loud.
Tonight, I had the worst service imaginable!! I ordered the street wings, when they arrived they were cold. Ordered coconut shrimp, BURNT! Then when I sent it back, the manager "rearranged the plate" himself bringing back the same shrimp, like I wouldn't notice! I usually enjoy this place, but tonight the best part of the experience was talking with the other guests about how terrible our evening turned out. On one hand, Molly the server was wonderfully pleasant but definitely not returning for a server and bad food.
Went there for Brunch today. The food was Amazing. The picture I posted was the seafood chowder it was Excellent and our server Keri wad Awesome. Definitely going back. The Bartender Rocked♡♡♡♡
Went here before a concert at The Majestic. Servers were amazingly nice. The lobster macaroni and cheese was delicious!
Terrible ordered coconut shrimp appetizer, bland and over cooked. Waited way to long for entrees, husband and I ordered lobster grilled cheese & squash soup. Sandwiches had so much garlic that was all you could taste, soup wasn’t even edible. Server was lovely but will never return, too many better options, like McDonald’s
Not like it used to be of years gone past, it took 20 minutes to get water and the waitress sat us in the back of the overflow room even when there was plenty of places to sit it the main room. Nothing from the menu from before ( salmon tortellini, seafood bisque etc. ) staff was rude. We left
My husband and I just stopped in here on a whim this past Sunday for lunch. The food was Amazing! We got the BBQ brisket egg rolls for an appetiser and the Steak New Orleans to share (celebrating our 15 years wedding anniversary). The food was Delicious! Service was excellent. Quick and Attentive. We drank the Moscow mule and the Lavender 75. Both Delicious cocktails. Will go here again soon!
Very friendly staff, great food and beer selection.
Great gathering place! Great atmosphere!
The food is always delicious!
They needed more wait staff my last visit. There was only 1 wait staff assigned to our party of 20. It seemed a little unfair to the waitress and therefore slowed the usually great service down to barely good.
Service is not great. Parked in the back, and my car got towed, cost $300 (CASH ONLY) to get it back. Sure would have been nice if the hostess would mention, "if you park in the back make sure you see the attendant". I would have said "what attendant". There are a lot of great places to be in this area now, and if Union Street does not respect its patrons we will go elsewhere. I know I will not be back any time soon.
It was a nice exciting restaurant. The food is good even with a lot of Mac and cheese which is really excellent. It also has burgers/sandwiches that have their own twist on them. It is a little higher price range but still not crazy. Except to spend about $50 for 2.
