Great place for different type of recreation from boating,fishing, frisbee golf, events, hikes,miniature golf, swimming and park sponsored events. Union County twitter account usually has updates on what is going on in the park. Come early in the summer time to get good parking. The bathrooms can be a bit gross in the summer months and holidays. Admission is only $4 or free for Union County Employees. If you are fishing they have bait for purchase. The reason I come is for the Fishing. There is Bass,catfish,carp,crappie,blue gill and other rare fish.

Between the park and all the other activities for the kids and adults it's always been a great place to enjoy being outside and the best way to meet real people who share in that. We've been going since I was a child and I bring my children as often as possible. My only complaint is they took out the diving board. I'm sure they have great reason for this bit the swim area being so small and shallow it's kinda like bath water.

Enjoyed my first visit to the park with my young grandchildren. The facilities in the playgrounds are good but the restrooms weren't that clean. Loved the natural environment beside the lake and the well placed picnic tables. I'm from the UK and it was great to see turtles in the wild. We look forward to our next visit

It has it all. A big, beautiful, prize bass lake. Miles of trails. Games and activities, including mini golf, paddle boats and canoes, shuffle board, volleyball, etc. Swimming in summer. Nice shelters, tables, etc. And it's only super busy on summer weekends. Many days it feel like one's private, 1000 acre park.

This is a great place to bring the family. They have lots of things to do. For an incredibly low price, you can rent a covered Pavilion for the day. The hiking trail is quite long and takes you almost all the way around the lake, but you will have to turn back. My wife and I go there quite often because we bring our kayaks. The lake allows you to do just about any kind of small boating you'd like and there are plenty of places to park your car and trailer.

This is a huge park with lots of lake. Lots of boats - big and small. Plenty of trails for walking and biking. Bring a fishing rod!

Wonderful open spaces. Weekends and holidays can see crowds in the summer but rarely are there lots of people on weekdays and during the winter. I love to go running here--safe! A year pass for local residents makes it very affordable.

Nice place. Free showers to boot too! The camp store closes at 7:30, which is also where you check-in, so make sure you get there in time. The beach also closes early, but you have free access to the park and beach access the lake. Nice and quite, a good place for kids.

Beautiful park! We visit the day use area frequently. It's $4 per car to get in and park. It's really nice and shaded with a good play area that has a nice view of the water. Had a couple of the kids birthday parties here. It's one of our favorite places to go.

Great park with a beautiful lake and now has an awesome disc golf park. Clean facility throughout and helpful friendly staff. We look forward to many returns.

Great place to take your little kids to try and get them into fish. There's playgrounds if they loose interest and if fishing isn't your thing there are campsites and trails for hiking. Fishing is better from a boat. The lake has plenty of brim species and crappie if you have a boat. Large carp swim the lake. As for bass and catfish the lake falls far short of what it use to.

Quiet, nice lake beach except for the small beach area with mud. Putt putt and the playground is nice. I don't mind paying the $4 entry fee per car, but I do mind being nickel and dimed for every activity. $2 paddle board, $2 beach access, $2 Putt putt for each person. Or buy a $5 day pass per person.

The new 18 hole Frisbee golf course is great. You get a good workout hiking through the woods to each hole. There is excellent signage pointing out where the next hole is. Currently, the park will rent you a bag of discs for a safety deposit of $10 + your drivers license. If you return all the discs you get the deposit back.

Me and my husband have been bringing our kids here for the past couple years. And my husband has Been going there all his life. It had always been a great a place until this year. We are tent campers we wanted to give our kids the real camping experience I don't know if they just don't like tent campers or what but the new park rangers we're very rude to us and one even asked if we we're smoking pot claiming ro have smelled it. I got very upset and we packed up and left and took my business to McDowell state park.
